Optimizing the particle size distribution of drill-in fluids based on fractal characteristics of porous media and solid particles
TL;DR: In this article, a fractal model for optimal solid PSD in drill-in fluids is developed for porous reservoir protection, and the model requires particle size should be determined based on the d90 Rule, and it requires the average capillary pressure curve to characterize the whole porous reservoir.

A new methodology that surpasses current bridging theories to efficiently seal a varied pore throat distribution as found in natural reservoir formations
TL;DR: In this paper, the pore throat size distribution of the formation and the particles size distribution in the drill-in fluid were used to achieve these results in the field, and the authors focused on pore-throat size distribution and particle size distribution.

Particulate invasion from drilling fluids
Louise Bailey,Edo S. Boek,Simon D. M. Jacques,Tony Boassen,Olav Martin Selle,Jean-Francois Argillier,Daniel Longeron +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the effect of mud particle size on rock substrates of varying permeabilities and found that formation damage increases with increasing substrate permeability; flow initiation pressures were greatest on low permeability cores.
