The Ashgate companion to contemporary philosophy of physics

Dean Rickles
TL;DR: This book is a field guide to recent work on the foundations of statistical mechanics and quantum information theory and a primer for philosophers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Green Rust: The Simple Organizing 'Seed' of All Life?

TL;DR: The precipitation of green rust, along with subsidiary iron sulfides and minor concentrations of nickel, cobalt, and molybdenum in the environment at the alkaline springs, may have established both the key bio-syntonic disequilibria and the means to properly make use of them—the elements needed to effect the essential inanimate-to-animate transitions that launched life.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quantum models of cognition and decision

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss principle ideas of quantum cognition research program, which comprise elements of the formalism of quantum mechanics (mainly Hilbert space theory and quantization theory).
