The Impact of Core Self-evaluation on Self-criticism
TLDR
This paper investigated whether the dimensions of core self-evaluation and gender significantly predicted internal self-criticism and comparison-based self-critical behavior, which are dimensions of selfcriticism.Abstract:
The present study investigated whether the dimensions of core self-evaluation and gender significantly predicted internal self-criticism and comparison based self-critical behavior, which are the dimensions of self-criticism. The study group included 336 students attending Adnan Menderes University during the 2017-2018 academic year. The study group included 243 female and 93 male students. Self-Criticism and Core Self-evaluation scales were used in the study. Multivariate regression analysis was used to analyze the study data. In the study, it was determined that the locus of control (LC) and neuroticism (NEU) sub-dimensions significantly predicted comparative self-criticism (when one considers others superior in comparison to one's self) and internalized self-criticism (assessment of one's self with own standards) dimensions of locus of control (LC) self-efficacy and neuroticism (NEU) sub-dimensions.read more
