The prediction of airborne sound transmission between two rooms using first-order flanking paths
TL;DR: In this paper, the first-order approximation of statistical energy analysis (SEA) was used to predict airborne sound transmission between adjacent rooms in a masonry building, by comparing results obtained from EN 12354-1 to SEA predictions and measurements, and it was shown that the restriction of the Standard to firstorder flanking paths can lead to large errors in predictions when compared to measurements and SEA results taking into account all transmission paths.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural isolation of walls using elastic interlayers
TL;DR: In this paper, a resilient layer under a wall will reduce transmission of bending waves between the wall and floor but will have less effect on the conversion of in-plane waves to bending waves.

Investigating the feasibility of using dynamic stiffness beam functions in a hybrid structure-borne noise prediction model
TL;DR: A comparison between the various stages of the full and simplified hybrid prediction models has been provided, along with suggestions for the next steps to further develop and assemble the proposed simplified model.

Effet de traitements thermiques modérés et de revêtement sur les propriétés vibratoires des bois d’Epicéa et de Mûrier
TL;DR: In this article, a traitement thermique modere (<150°C) and a revetement par vernis sur plusieurs proprietes physiques and mecaniques ont ete etudies.

Structure-borne sound
TL;DR: In this article, the authors consider bending waves, which are a special combination of compressional and shear waves, and for some special cases (quasi-) longitudinal waves and torsional waves also have to be considered.

The prediction of sound transmission through buildings using statistical energy analysis
TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the uses of statistical energy analysis for determining sound transmission performance and found that, in general, good agreement was obtained with the predicted values, but some large errors were reported due to the omission of airborne flanking paths from the SEA model or due to a breakdown of the theory for specific coupling loss factors.

Damping of building structures
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented design charts which enable the total loss factor of walls and floors to be quickly calculated and a comparison with measured results showed very good agreement with the results.

Transmission Loss of Some Masonry Walls
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the results of this theory with data from field measurements on some typical, masonry walls and found that the results were in good agreement with typical field results.
