TLDR
In this paper, the authors present the results of an empirical test of the applicability of using a learning curve to plan and evaluate the performance of a group of mentally disabled production workers at a small manufacturing plant.Abstract:
This article presents the results of an empirical test of the applicability of using a learning curve to plan and evaluate the performance of a group of mentally disabled production workers at a small manufacturing plant. A regression model of the worker's performance over 10 weeks shows that they experienced the standard log-linear learning curve relationship between task time per unit and cumulative units. Their learning rate was approximately 85%, which falls within the learning rate range of earlier studies of nondisabled workers. Comparison of mentally disabled and nondisabled workers on the same task shows that the latter had higher turnover, lower initial task time, and a slower learning rate. Extending the learning curve model shows how a firm can include wage differentials between disabled and nondisabled workers to evaluate the cost effectiveness of disabled workers. For the firm in this study, disabled workers created a short-term cost penalty but generated long-term savings. The firm's cost-ef...read more

Employment expectations as a differential indicator of attitudes toward people with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
TL;DR: The ability of the Employment Expectation Questionnaire-Beta version (EEQ-B) to differentially describe employment relevant attitudes towards people with disabilities was investigated and labels of cognitive disability and gender had a differential effect across the factors.

Applied Linear Regression Models
TL;DR: In this article, a simple linear regression with one predictor variable variable is proposed for time series data, where the predictor variable is a linear regression model with a single predictor variable and the regression model is a combination of linear regression and regression with multiple predictors.

The learning curve: historical review and comprehensive survey
TL;DR: The use of the learning curve has been receiving increasing attention in recent years as discussed by the authors, and much of this increase has been due to learning curve applications other than in the traditional learning curve areas.

The persistence and transfer of learning in industrial settings
TL;DR: This article examined the persistence of learning within organizations and the transfer of learning across organizations on data collected from multiple organizations and found that knowledge acquired through production depreciates rapidly and the conventional measure of learning, cumulative output, significantly overstates the persistent learning.
