Abstract
The More Electric Aircraft concept offers many potential benefits in the design and efficiency of future large, manned aircraft. In this article, typical ?aircraft electrical power systems and associated loads are described as well as the exciting future challenges for the aerospace industry. The importance of power electronics as an enabling technology for this step change in aircraft design is considered, and examples of typical system designs are discussed.

An Extremely High Power Density Asymmetrical Back-to-Back Converter for Aerospace Motor Drive Applications

TL;DR: An asymmetrical-voltage-level back-to-back multilevel converter is proposed, which consists of a five-level rectifier stage and a three-level inverter stage and can achieve high efficiency and minimize the converter weight on both rectifier and inverter sides.

Modeling and Control of a Modular Iron Bird

TL;DR: The control architecture and the control laws of a new concept of Modular Iron Bird aimed at reproducing flight loads to test mobile aerodynamic control surface actuators for small and medium size aircraft and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are described.

An Improved Fault Identification Method for Electromechanical Actuators

TL;DR: In this article , an improvement of an already presented algorithm is introduced, whose scope is to predict the actual degradation state of a motor in an electromechanical actuator, also providing a temperature estimation.

Frequency-Selective Impedance Control for DC Microgrids

TL;DR: In this paper, a frequency-selective impedance control (FSIC) is proposed to suppress the steady-state ripples of a micro grid's DC-bus voltage, caused by load's current harmonics.

Power Flow Decoupling Controller for Triple Active Bridge Based on Fourier Decomposition of Transformer Currents

TL;DR: The controller is based on a full-order continuous-time model of the TAB converter derived using the generalized average modelling technique, which uses the Fourier series expansion to decompose the state-space variables into two components, which represent the active power and the reactive power.
