The prestressability problem of tensegrity structures: some analytical solutions
TLDR
In this article, the authors formulate the general prestressability conditions for tense-grity structures as a set of nonlinear equations and inequalities on the tendon tensions, and present several examples of tense-gird structures for which the conditions can be analytically solved.About:

TL;DR: N nanoscale, prestressed, three-dimensional tensegrity structures in which rigid bundles of DNA double helices resist compressive forces exerted by segments of single-stranded DNA that act as tension-bearing cables are reported.

Tensegrity frameworks: Static analysis review.
TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the basic issues about the statics of tense-grity structures is presented, including definitions and notation for the most important concepts, borrowed from the vast existing literature.

Deployment of tensegrity structures
Cornel Sultan,Robert E. Skelton +1 more
TL;DR: This paper presents a strategy for tensegrity structures deployment by using a certain set of equilibria to which the undeployed and deployed configurations belong and conducting the deployment such that the deployment trajectory is close to this equilibrium manifold.

A computational tensegrity model predicts dynamic rheological behaviors in living cells.
TL;DR: It is shown that a mathematical model of cell mechanics that depicts the intracellular cytoskeleton as a tensegrity structure composed of a prestressed network of interconnected microfilaments, microtubules, and intermediate filaments, also can predict fundamental dynamic behaviors of living cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tensegrity frameworks: Dynamic analysis review and open problems
TL;DR: The most common approaches to tensegrity dynamic modeling used so far are presented, giving the most important results about their dynamic behavior under external action.

Matrix analysis of statically and kinematically indeterminate frameworks
TL;DR: In this paper, the structural mechanics of assemblies of bars and pinjoints, particularly where they are simultaneously statically and kinematically indeterminate, are investigated, and an algorithm is set up which determines the rank of the matrix and the bases for the four subspaces.

The architecture of life
TL;DR: The role of tense-grity in the architecture of organic structures is examined in this paper, where a definition of tense grity, principles of tensegrity applied to the skeleton and cytoskeleton, mechanics in biochemistry, self-assembly of organic structure, geodesic forms in cellular structure, and the universality of the geodesics form are discussed.
