TLDR
The Specificity of Serological ReactionsBy Dr. Karl Landsteiner.
Abstract
THE study of serological reactions has for years attracted many workers. There have been fierce controversies between the exponents of differing theories, and these controversies have stimulated both thought and work. During the last thirty years progress has been very rapid, and continues to be so, although relatively little work has been possible in Great Britain during the war years. The production of a revised edition of this extremely valuable book is therefore most welcome. The Specificity of Serological Reactions By Dr. Karl Landsteiner. Revised edition. With a Chapter on Molecular Structure and Intermolecular Forces, by Linus Pauling. Pp. xiv + 310. (Cambridge, Mass.: Harvard University Press; London: Oxford University Press, 1945.) 28s. net.

The adsorption of proteins on erythrocytes treated with tannic acid and subsequent hemagglutination by antiprotein sera

TL;DR: Treatment of sheep erythrocytes with suitable concentrations of tannic acid render them capable of adsorbing certain protein molecules from solution in saline, and small amounts of the antigens can be detected through their power to inhibit hemagglutination of the treated cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

The unfoldomics decade: an update on intrinsically disordered proteins

TL;DR: The goal is to review the key discoveries and to weave these discoveries together to support novel approaches for understanding sequence-function relationships.

Flexible nets: disorder and induced fit in the associations of p53 and 14-3-3 with their partners.

TL;DR: Detailed examination of two divergent examples of hub proteins support the conjecture that hub proteins often utilize intrinsic disorder to bind to multiple partners and provide detailed information about induced fit in structured regions.

Hybridization between Escherichia coli and Shigella.

TL;DR: It is established that these two types of intestinal bacteria could mate and produce hybrids possessing characteristics of each, and this had implications for laboratory diagnosis, raising the possibility that a hybrid possessing Shigella's pathogenic qualities could test as an E. coli, or vice-versa.

Immunochemistry of O and R antigens of Salmonella and related Enterobacteriaceae.

TL;DR: Preparation and Composition of R (Lipo)polysaccharides and Biochemical and Genetic Basis of Changes in Specificity After Phage Conversion.
