Does the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol work well in multihop wireless ad hoc networks

TL;DR: It is concluded that the current version of this wireless LAN protocol does not function well in multihop ad hoc networks, and it is doubt whether the WaveLAN-based system is workable as a mobile ad hoc testbed.

Spatial TDMA: A Collision-Free Multihop Channel Access Protocol

TL;DR: A broadcast channel access protocol called spatial TDMA is defined, which is designed specifically to operate in a multihop packet radio environment where the location of the nodes of the network is assumed to be fixed.

Making transmission schedules immune to topology changes in multi-hop packet radio networks

TL;DR: A robust scheduling protocol is proposed which is unique in providing a topology transparent solution to scheduled access in multi-hop mobile radio networks and is robust in the presence of mobile nodes.

Some complexity results about packet radio networks (Corresp.)

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the decision problem regarding the membership of a point in the capacity region of a packet radio network is NP-hard, where the problem is defined as the existence of any set of rules for moving the data through the network so that the desired rates are satisfied.

An optimal topology-transparent scheduling method in multihop packet radio networks

TL;DR: This paper compares the proposed algorithm for transmission scheduling with that of Chlamtac and Farago's and with the TDMA algorithm, and finds that the algorithm given gives better performance in terms of minimum throughput and minimum and maximum delay times.
