TLDR
The objective is to evaluate the properties of platelet-poor plasma, particularly its adhesive action, in patients referred for restorative abdominal dermolipectomy, to reduce postoperative collections, such as hematoma and seroma, two major complications in this type of surgery.
Abstract
Autologous plasma began to be studied in the 90's, mainly because its adhesive and angiogenic properties and the presence of growth factors of platelet origin. In fact, plasma can be isolated from autologous manner, from the patient's own blood and obtained in its two parts: a high concentration of platelets (platelet-rich plasma - PRP) and one with low concentration of platelets (platelet-poor plasma - PPP). The present study is in development at the Clementino Fraga Filho University Hospital, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ-HUCFF) and Marcilio Dias Naval Hospital (HNMD), both in Rio de Janeiro. The objective is to evaluate the properties of platelet-poor plasma, particularly its adhesive action, in patients referred for restorative abdominal dermolipectomy, to reduce postoperative collections, such as hematoma and seroma, two major complications in this type of surgery.

Efficacy of Autologous Platelet-rich Plasma Glue in Weight Loss Sequelae Surgery and Breast Reduction: A Prospective Study.

TL;DR: A-PRP glue seems effective to prevent seroma formation after limb lifting and hematomas formation after breast reduction and wound-healing quality did not seem to be improved.

Effect of Tissue Adhesives on Seroma Incidence After Abdominoplasty: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

TL;DR: There is a paucity of high-quality evidence to support the delivery of TAs to prevent seroma formation after abdominoplasty, and well-designed RCTs are needed to assess with confidence the overall effects.

Fibrin sealant and lipoabdominoplasty in obese grade 1 and 2 patients.

TL;DR: Laboabdominoplasty with the use of autologous fibrin sealant is a very effective method that significantly reduces the rate of postoperative seroma.

Treatment of nasolabial fold with subdermal dissection and autologous fat injection added with platelet-rich plasma.

TL;DR: Analytical study showed that based on improvement and stability of nasolabial fold augmentation and patients’ satisfaction there was a significant difference between two groups, and it seems to be that autologous free fat with PRP injection in deep nasolABial fold repairment is an ideal way in treatment of naslabial folds.

The Use of Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma (Platelet Gel) and Autologous Platelet-Poor Plasma (Fibrin Glue) in Cosmetic Surgery

TL;DR: Capillary bed bleeding was present in all cases and effectively sealed within 3 minutes following the application of platelet gel and fibrin glue, so as to maintain hemostasis during cosmetic surgical procedures.

TL;DR: Platelet-rich plasma with high platelets counts can be prepared using this method and the gel can be obtained with the addition of autologous thrombin, obtained in the same procedure.

Utilização do plasma rico em plaquetas (PRP) autólogo em enxertos cutâneos em coelhos

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to stimulate wound healing in skin grafts and evaluated the results with a histological study in rabbits.
