An integrated value management (IVM) for construction projects in Malaysia

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a new conceptual framework of Integrated Value Management (IVM) concept as an alternative to VM framework for construction projects in Malaysia, which is a combination of three (3) key components namely: Value Engineering (VE), Risk Management (RM), and Partnering to be incorporated in the development of construction projects.

Collaborative design of value in creative projects: an expansive value management model

TL;DR: In this paper, a longitudinal case study with Renault showed that the value in a creative project under a research program involving the next generation of electric vehicles is managed by managing the distance between the trajectories of the CP and the dominant design, which is beneficial to the emergence of new ecosystems.
Journal ArticleDOI

The economic management of construction projects: An evolving methodology

TL;DR: In this article, an emerging methodology synthesising value management and cost management skills and techniques for the economic management of construction projects throughout the project life cycle is presented, which aims to optimise utility and quality while minimising cost.
Journal ArticleDOI

Facility decision making process with modified value engineering approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a Value = Function/Cost (VE) based facility selection approach, where the cost of a facility is expressed in net present value (NPV) as it contains the net expense of purchasing or leasing a building as well as the time value of money.
