Glycosaminoglycan contribution to the structure-mechanical properties of the posterior sclera
TL;DR: This work aims to investigate the contributions of GAGs to the structure and mechanical properties of the posterior sclera, as well as their possible mechanical role in glaucoma.
Visual Performance of Scleral and Soft Contact Lenses in Normal Eyes
TL;DR: The author’s aim has been to contribute towards the humanizing of science through the exploration of human interaction with the natural world.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Review of the Vascular Anatomy of the Optic Nerve Head and Its Clinical Implications
TL;DR: The vascular anatomy of the optic nerve head is complex and sometimes misunderstood and the anatomy and relevance to disease processes that affect this vital visual structure are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surgical anatomy of the internal carotid plexus branches to the abducens nerve in the cavernous sinus.
Joe Iwanaga,Joe Iwanaga,Mahindra Kumar Anand,Amarilis Camacho,Felix D. Rodriguez,Caroline Watson,Eric L. Caskey,Aaron S. Dumont,R. Shane Tubbs +8 more
TL;DR: Based on cadaveric findings, sympathetic connections between the internal carotid artery and the abducens nerve are common and surgeons who operate in or near the cavernous sinus should be aware of such connections in order not to place unwanted tension on the Cavernous Sinus.
Dissertation
Modelling and analysis of ophthalmic fluid dynamics
TL;DR: In this article, mathematical models and numerical methods are developed for analysing and simulating the spatio-temporal evolution of the tear film coating the anterior surface of the human eye during an interblink period.
