X-band ESR studies of forbidden transitions of europium ions in CaF2: Eu crystals
TLDR
In this article, the characteristics of allowed and forbidden transitions of Eu2+ ions in CaF2 single crystals have been investigated at room temperature, and the angular dependences of these transition intensities were theoretically calculated with the use of perturbation theory, and compared with the experimental values.About:

Self‐consistent embedded‐cluster calculations of the electronic structure of alkaline earth fluorides in the hartree‐fock‐slater approximation
TL;DR: In this article, molecular orbital calculations are performed for clusters representing the CaF2, SrF2 and BaF2 ionic crystals, with the discrete variational method with the Xα approximation for the exchange interaction; a detailed investigation of different models for embedding the clusters in the solids led to a realistic description of the effect of the neighbour ions in the infinite crystal.

Mapping of 2nd-nearest-neighbor fluoride ions of orthorhombic gd-3+-ag+ complexes in caf2
R Nakata,H. W. den Hartog +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors applied the ENDOR technique to determine the positions of 24 second-nearest-neighbor F− ions around an orthorhombic Gd3+-Ag+ complex in CaF2 crystals.

ESR Studies of Allowed and Forbidden Transitions of Eu2+ Ions in SrF2 Crystals
TL;DR: The line positions and intensities of the ESR from Eu 2+ ions in SrF 2 crystals have been investigated at room temperature and at 9.5 GHz as discussed by the authors.

A Theoretical Study on Generation of Microwave Raman and Its Application to New ENDOR Using a Rectangular Waveguide: a Reflection Type
TL;DR: In this article, it is shown that analogous solutions to the approximate ones for the density matrixes for the optical-NMR can be used in the microwave Raman in a three level ESR-NOMA system.

Explanation of some `Forbidden' Transitions in Paramagnetic Resonance
B Bleaney,R S Rubins +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the abnormal intensity of some 'forbidden' hyperfine transitions in the paramagnetic resonance spectra of ions with S = 1 or more is due to cross terms in the spin Hamiltonian.

Paramagnetic Resonance of S-State Ions in Calcium Fluoride
TL;DR: In this article, a cubic-field Stark splitting (a = + 0$\cdot $6 $\pm $ 0$ 0$ \cdot$4 $\times $ 10$-4}$ cm$^{-1}$ ) was observed in single crystals of calcium fluoride grown from the melt.

Paramagnetic Resonance Spectrum of Trivalent Gadolinium in the Cubic Field of Calcium Fluoride
TL;DR: In this article, the paramagnetic resonance spectrum of the gadolinium ion has been analyzed at 3 cm wavelength at room and liquid helium temperatures and it has been shown that the cubic symmetry is essentially preserved.
