XTIVREG28: Stata module to perform extended IV/2SLS, GMM and AC/HAC, LIML and k-class regression for panel data models (version 8)
TLDR
xtivreg2 as mentioned in this paper is a wrapper for ivreg28, which can be installed on Stata versions 9+ and can be used to estimate fixed-effects and first-difference panel data models with possibly endogenous regressors.Abstract:
xtivreg28 implements IV/GMM estimation of the fixed-effects and first-differences panel data models with possibly endogenous regressors. It is essentially a wrapper for ivreg28, which must be installed for xtivreg28 to run. Users of Stata versions 9+ should use xtivreg2. xtivreg28 supports all the estimation and reporting options of ivreg28; see help ivreg28 for full descriptions and examples. In particular, all the statistics available with ivreg28 (heteroskedastic, cluster- and autocorrelation-robust covariance matrix and standard errors, overidentification and orthogonality tests, first-stage and weak/underidentification statistics, etc.) are also supported by xtivreg2 and will be reported with any degrees-of-freedom adjustments required for a panel data estimation.read more

What We Miss By Missing Data: Aid Effectiveness Revisited
Anja Breitwieser,Katharina Wick +1 more
TL;DR: The authors used multiple imputation techniques to investigate the effect of foreign aid on welfare and find lower aid effectiveness than previous studies suggest, and they find that if aid effectiveness is evaluated based on such indicators, the respective indicator choice can matter for the results.

Impact of volunteering on cognitive decline of the elderly
TL;DR: This paper used seven waves of the Health and Retirement Study and a fixed effects instrumental variable methodology to estimate the effects of volunteering on old age cognitive decline and found that volunteering participation significantly forestalled cognitive decline among individuals aged 60 years and older.

Are Low Skill Public Sector Workers Really Overpaid? A Quasi-Differenced Panel Data Analysis
TL;DR: In this article, a quasi-differenced Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) panel data model was used to identify sectoral differences in returns to unobserved skill.

The organization of knowledge in multinational firms
TL;DR: This article studied the organization of knowledge in multinational firms and showed that higher communication costs impede the access of the plants to headquarter knowledge, which is a costly input for firms that they can acquire at their headquarters or their production plants.

Compensating Outside Directors with Stock: The Impact on Non-Primary Stakeholders.
Yuval Deutsch,Mike Valente +1 more
TL;DR: The authors examined the effect of stock compensation on secondary stakeholders and a firm's participation in social issues, finding that while stock compensation may be an effective way to align directors' goals to those of shareholders, it has adverse effects on important non-shareholder constituencies in the company's operating environment.
