Abstract
Kinetic investigations for thermal polymerization in different solvents and at different temperatures are described. The isotope effect of 2.4.6-trideuterostyrol is determinated at different temperatures and at different monomer concentrations. The results agree with the ideas expressed by MAYO about the initial step of thermal polymerisation.

A novel method for the measurement of chain transfer to monomer constants in styrene homopolymerizations: The pulsed laser rotating reactor assembly

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used pulsed laser polymerization (PLP) with extended dark times to determine transfer to monomer constants in styrene bulk polymerizations, and reported average values for the activation parameters determined from both thermal and extended dark-times PLP experiments.

The thermal polymerization of styrene in diethyladipate at temperatures up to 160

TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal polymerization of styrene in diethyladipate has been studied dilatometrically at temperatures from 90 to 160° and the rate was found to be directly proportional to the monomer concentration 2 and the molecular weight of the polymer formed was controlled mainly by chain transfer to monomer, particularly at the higher temperatures.

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed analysis of kinetische Untersuchungen in Niedermolekularen Umsetzungen is presented, in which detaillierte kinetierte Analysen, die sich auf alle relevanten Teilreaktionen erstrecken mussen, unabdingbare Voraussetzung fur die Herstellung definierter Polymerprodukte auch im technischen Masstab.

Thermal polymerization of N‐tert‐butylacrylamide in 1,4‐dioxane

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the thermal polymerization of N-tert-butylacrylamide in 1,4-dioxane as solvent, in the 65-80°C temperature range.
