Is CTCFL relate to NSCLC or metastasis?

Best insight from top research papers

CTCFL, also known as NEFL, is related to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and metastasis. Studies have shown that NEFL expression is associated with decreased lymph node metastases and favorable prognosis in NSCLC patients . Knocked-down of NEFL enhances the invasion and migration of NSCLC cells, while NEFL overexpression suppresses invasion and migration in vitro . NEFL downregulation is associated with promoter methylation, and NEFL expression can be restored after treatment with 5-Aza-dC . NEFL inhibits the NF-κB pathway, thereby suppressing the expression of uPA and decreasing NSCLC invasiveness and migration . Additionally, the EMT phenotype of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the peripheral blood of NSCLC patients is associated with distant metastasis. E+/M+ CTCs and M+ CTCs have been identified as potential predictors of distant metastasis in NSCLC patients .

Prediction model of NSCLC metastasis with gene or protein siganture?5 answersA predictive model for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) metastasis using gene or protein signatures has been investigated in several studies. Nitao Cheng et al. developed a deep neural network (DNN) model using gene expression data to predict lung cancer metastasis. Nancy Lan Guo et al. identified a 7-gene signature that accurately stratified NSCLC patients and validated it in independent cohorts. Lopamudra Dey and Anirban Mukhopadhyay analyzed protein-protein interactions (PPIs) in lung cancer tissues and identified a set of hub proteins related to lung cancer. Oscar Arrieta et al. focused on the risk of brain metastases in advanced lung adenocarcinoma patients. Marianna Grinberg et al. aimed to develop a prognostic model for surgically resected NSCLC using a biomarker panel, but found that combining protein expression with clinicopathological data did not significantly improve survival prediction.
Is MBD3 relate to NSCLC or metastasis?5 answersMBD3 is not related to NSCLC or metastasis.
Is there an association between colorectal cancer lung metastases and tumor-associated macrophages?5 answersTumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) have been found to play a role in colorectal cancer (CRC) metastasis. TAMs promote epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through the TGF-β signaling pathway, driving tumor cells to acquire mesenchymal properties and invade new metastatic sites. TAMs are also associated with poor clinical outcomes in solid cancers, including CRC. In stage III CRC patients receiving post-surgical FOLFOX treatment, low TAM densities were associated with shorter disease-free survival (DFS). Additionally, TAMs can polarize into anti-tumorigenic (M1) or pro-tumorigenic (M2) phenotypes, exerting opposite effects on tumor progression. In lung cancer, TAMs have been shown to promote tumor initiation, inhibit antitumor immune responses, stimulate tumor angiogenesis, and contribute to tumor metastasis. Therefore, there is an association between colorectal cancer lung metastases and tumor-associated macrophages.
