TL;DR: The sources of thermionic emission from the GaAs/CsO type of photocathode are considered in this paper, where it is shown that the dominant emission components are likely to be due to generation of electron-hole pairs, at trapping centers in the band bending region or via surface states.
Abstract: The sources of thermionic emission (dark current) from the GaAs/CsO type of photocathode are considered It is shown that for boat-grown GaAs the dominant emission components are likely to be due to generation of electron-hole pairs, at trapping centers in the band-bending region or via surface states The expected emission densities are comparable to the dark current of an alkali antimonide photocathode of the S-20 type For an arbitrary distribution of traps and surface states, the work function should be lowered no more than necessary to give satisfactory photoelectric response Certain trap distributions should allow simultaneously low values of work function and dark current

TL;DR: In this paper, conductivity, Hall effect, and thermo-emf for cadmium antimonide crystals containing 0.001-1% Cu in the range 90 ° to 380 ° K were investigated.
Abstract: Results are presented on conductivity, Hall effect, and thermo-emf for cadmium antimonide crystals containing 0.001–1% Cu in the range 90 ° to 380 ° K. The parameter z is calculated for the range 140 °–380 ° K for four concentrations.
