TL;DR: In this article, the machinability of silicon carbide particulate aluminium metal matrix composite during turning using fixed rhombic tools was investigated during the fabrication of Al/SiC-MMC and the influence of machining parameters, e.g. cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut on the tools wear and built-up edges (BUEs) were analyzed.

TL;DR: In this paper, a study of chip formation during the machining of MMCs produced by the mechanical alloying (MA) technique is described, where the effect of Al 4 C 3 on the crack formation in shear plane, shortened the chip contact length and the chip segment thickness.
