TL;DR: In this article, a method for processing sheets in a processing apparatus comprising a plurality of processing stations and a control system controlling at least one processing station for printing sheets and/or assembling sheets to form a document to be mailed is presented.
Abstract: Method for processing sheets in a processing apparatus comprising a plurality of processing stations and a control system controlling at least one processing station for printing sheets and/or assembling sheets to form at least one document to be mailed. By means of a text unit not belonging to the processing apparatus, at least one digital document in digital form is generated, in which at least one digital code also generated with the text unit is included. This code comprises information about the manner in which the control system is to control the processing stations. The digital document is supplied to the control system in digital form, whereafter the control system records the digital document in digital form, recognizes the code and controls the processing station depending on the code.

TL;DR: The concept of computer-generated multimedia text-books are presented; their creation by an easy-to-use, sophisticated authoring system is described; and the underlying instructional design approach is described to guide future authors of multimedia textbooks.
Abstract: Textbooks are now available via computers. These new electronic or multimedia textbooks appear similar to conventional books but differ in function. In addition to text and images, they contain video and audio clips and allow readers to interact with the content. Multimedia textbooks contain digital media, can be quickly and inexpensively updated and repurposed for lectures and handouts, and are available on-line via computer networks for distance learning. We present the concept of computer-generated multimedia textbooks; describe their creation by an easy-to-use, sophisticated authoring system; and describe the underlying instructional design approach to guide future authors of multimedia textbooks. TL;DR: This paper describes how to conduct a long-distance studio and compares asynchronous and synchronous collaborative techniques and ways to foster a strong virtual community are discussed in an agenda for future virtual design.
Abstract: A design problem shared over the Internet raises issues of how digital media and group dynamics affect networked design collaborations. This paper describes how to conduct a long-distance studio and compares asynchronous and synchronous collaborative techniques. Digital methods are discussed in relationship to both the creative process and design communication. In schematic stages, less precise tools used asynchronously allow free exploration and creative misreadings, while in later stages, more direct real-time exchanges bring a project to resolution. For the final review, synchronous video-conferencing with interactive graphics allow comparison of cross-cultural differences. Used effectively, these tools can electronically create a compelling sense of place. Ways to foster a strong virtual community are discussed in an agenda for future virtual design.

TL;DR: The Natural Speaker as mentioned in this paper is a step-by-step guide to public speaking that explores the fundamental skills necessary to present a natural, and rewarding speech to any audience, by providing an overview of speech construction, practice, and delivery.
Abstract: The Natural Speaker is a friendly step-by-step guide to public speaking that explores the fundamental skills necessary to present a natural, and rewarding speech to any audience. By providing an overview of speech construction, practice, and delivery, this book is designed to enhance and improve upon students' natural strengths. Featuring a warm, and humorous writing style, The Natural Speaker illustrates the concepts and skills required for enjoyable public speaking, and Randy Fujishin invites readers to view speaking as a life-long journey. This ninth edition has been updated throughout to reflect the integration of online media in public speaking today—with sections on digital visual aids, digital note taking, and speaking on YouTube—and now features guidance on speaking to multicultural audiences.

TL;DR: In 1990, a working group of the NKS (the Nordic nuclear safety program) was formed and gave the task of established a basis for a common Nordic view of the need for information conservation for nuclear waste repositories.
Abstract: In 1990 a working group of the NKS (the Nordic nuclear safety program) was formed and give the task of established a basis for a common Nordic view of the need for information conservation for nuclear waste repositories. The Group investigated what tipy of information should be conserved; in what form the information should be kept; the quality of the information; and the problems of future retrieval of information, including retrieval after very long periods of time. Topics covered include the following: scientific aspects including social context of scientific solutions; information management; systems for conservation and retrieval of information including the problems of prediction; archives, markers, archives vs. markers, and continuing processes in society; Archive media including paper documents, microfilm, digital media, media lifetimes; and finally conclusions and recommendations.

TL;DR: How Laser-Pacific Media Corporation, as part of its long term strategic plan, has incorporated large scale general purpose computers in its building of its vision of the Motion Picture Laboratory in the age of digital media.
Abstract: Traces the historical roots of electronic post production in the film and television industry The author describes how electronic and computer technology has affected the traditional process of film based post production In addition, he describes how Laser-Pacific Media Corporation, as part of its long term strategic plan has incorporated large scale general purpose computers in its building of its vision of the Motion Picture Laboratory in the age of digital media The author explores why Laser-Pacific chose an IBM POWER Visualization super computer system as the foundation of this long term approach >
