TL;DR: In this article, a dynamoelectric machine with a large magnetic gap and flexible printed circuit phase windings is described, where the magnet assembly is separated by a small mechanical gap to allow their relative rotation.
Abstract: A dynamoelectric machine having a large magnetic gap and flexible printed circuit phase windings includes a multi-pole samarium cobalt magnet assembly consisting of radially aligned magnets and circumferentially positioned interpole magnets attached to a soft iron ring for providing radially directed magnetic poles of alternating polarity, and a printed circuit winding assembly attached to a soft back iron sleeve for providing electromagnetic poles. The printed circuit winding assembly comprises a lamination of selectively aligned and interconnected printed circuit phase windings, each having serially connected printed circuit coils of the same phase. The winding and magnet assemblies are separated by a small mechanical gap to allow their relative rotation. The magnets and soft iron structures are proportioned to operate near the maximum energy product condition for Samarium Cobalt, where the sum of the mechanical gap thickness and the winding assembly thickness is the magnetic gap in a high reluctance circuit. A large volume of windings is placed within the permanent magnet field and entirely within the magnetic gap to provide a large ampere-turn condition at a low power dissipation. Brushless DC single and multi-phase torquers, brush-type DC torquers, stepper motors, and synchronous motors embodying the dynamoelectric machine of the present invention are highly efficient devices having a very low magnetic drag torque and a magnetic cogging torque substantially equal to zero.

TL;DR: In this article, the integral interconnect socket and flexible board assembly accepts an electronic module having a plurality of leads arranged in a predetermined pattern, and a layer of metal plating formed within the apertures makes electrical connections with the respective conductors.
Abstract: The integral interconnect socket and flexible board assembly accepts an electronic module having a plurality of leads arranged in a predetermined pattern. The assembly includes a flexible printed circuit (PC) board having a plurality of conductors and a first set of holes disposed to respectively intersect the conductors. A substantially rigid platform is mounted to the PC board and has a second set of holes. The first and second set of holes are in alignment and define common apertures arranged in the predetermined pattern to receive the leads of the modules. A layer of metal plating formed within the apertures makes electrical connections with the respective conductors. Jacks are mounted to each aperture for receiving the leads and making electrical connections between the leads and the conductors.

TL;DR: In this paper, an elongated, flexible printed circuit board coaxial cable which is made using a pattern on a flexible PCB substrate on which coaxial cables are formed is described.
Abstract: Elongated, flexible printed circuit board coaxial cable which is made using a pattern on a flexible PCB substrate on which coaxial cables are formed is described. A series of slits and folds allows one or more elongated cables to be formed in each pattern. Such cables are particularly useful for connecting multi-connector apparatus of the type which requires coaxial cables interconnected in very close spaces, such as the type used in ultrasound transducers. The method for manufacturing such elongated, flexible printed circuit board coaxial cable is also described. The method includes forming a pattern on a flexible PCB substrate on which coaxial cables are formed. Thereafter, a series of slits and folds allows one or more elongated cables to be formed in each pattern. Such cables are particularly useful for connecting multi-connector apparatus of the type which requires coaxial cables interconnected in very close spaces, such as the type used in ultrasound transducers.

TL;DR: In this paper, a method of producing prelaminates for rigid-flexible printed circuit boards comprising at least one conducting level using prepregs (4) having predetermined breaking points and flexible metal-clad laminates, which are joined together by means of adhesive is presented.
Abstract: Method of producing prelaminates for rigid-flexible printed circuit boards comprising at least one conducting level using prepregs (4) having predetermined breaking points and flexible metal-clad laminates, which are joined together by means of adhesive. The prepregs (4) are laid in layers on top of one another in accordance with the required thickness of the prelaminate and separated along the predetermined breaking points which form the boundary of the flexible printed circuit board areas. The separations (8) terminate before reaching the outside edges of the prepregs (4), an adhesive strip (5) of suitable size is then bonded onto the uppermost prepreg in each case between the separations (8) which bound the flexible printed circuit board areas in each case and the flexible, non-metallic layer of laminate is applied so as to overlap the predetermined breaking points at least in the area of the adhesive strip (5). Finally, the materials laid in layers on top of one another in this way are pressed together under the action of pressure and heat.

TL;DR: In this article, a flexible printed circuit board is used to improve the image resolution by connecting a substrate containing a driving circuit and a CRT socket with a flexible circuit board and as a result reducing the limitation for the form and the weight of the driving circuit.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve significantly the image resolution, by connecting a substrate containing a driving circuit and a CRT socket with a flexible printed circuit board and as a result reducing the limitation for the form and the weight of the driving circuit. CONSTITUTION:A circuit board 7 has a flexible print constitution. A CRT driving substrate 2b is connected flexibly to a CRT socket 3 via the board 7 and supported by a CRT via a different rigid member. The substrate 2b contains all functions to drive the CRT. Furthermore the image resolution is improved with an extremely wide frequency band, and the size and weight of a driving amplifier 4 are increased. However, the member which supports the substrate 2b is very rigid, and the circuit board 7 is flexible. Thus the resistance is sufficiently large to the impact and vibrations. The entire part of a substrate 5 is covered with a shielding case 5 with the resistance to an electromagnetic wave.

TL;DR: In this article, a flexible printed circuit board (FPC) is bonded on a glass or a bakelite base 4d with the circuit 4b upward employing an adhesive tending to soften by heat.
Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the preparation of a stable probe with limited aging by soldering a flexible printed circuit board without causing a strong stress thereon after slitting is applied thereto properly. CONSTITUTION:A flexible printed circuit board (FPC) is bonded on a glass or a bakelite base 4d with the circuit 4b upward employing an adhesive tending to soften by heat. A slit groove 4e is applied between printed circuits to be soldered. The slitting 4e of the FPC serves to cause little tension, almost eliminating in balance of the tension. Thus, there is no disconnection due to contraction stress of the FPC.
