TL;DR: Through a regression of handwriting from Personality and intelligence factor scores, it was found that 6 of 16 handwriting factors could be predicted by 5 of 10 personality and intelligence factors.
Abstract: Summary Scores were obtained for 103 Subjects on the Sixteen Personality Factor test, Form C; the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule; the Otis Quick Scoring Test, Form G; Raven's Progressive Matrices, Sets A-E; and on 47 handwriting variables. First, personality and intelligence variables, then handwriting variables were factored and rotated, after which factor scores were obtained. Through a regression of handwriting from personality and intelligence factor scores, it was found that 6 of 16 handwriting factors could be predicted by 5 of 10 personality and intelligence factors. These results and their relation to graphology are discussed.

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of four typeface and one handwriting graphics styles on the level and reliability of grades associated with themes in each graphic style were investigated. And the results indicated that themes in Script and HANDWRITING would be given lower grades than themes in the other typefaces, and also that moderate to high reliability of grading would obtain.
Abstract: It has long been known that graphics variables, independent of the actual quality of themes and essays, have influenced the reliability of essay grading. The quality of handwriting was found to influence essay grades forty years ago (James, 1927; Sheppard, 1929). Composition errors have been found to significantly influence grades given essays even when raters were instructed to grade on content only (Scannell and Marshall, 1966; Marshall, 1967). Chase (1968) found higher grades associated with themes with higher quality handwriting. There has, however, been little reported research of the effects of different typefaces on the reliability of grading essays and also on the quality of grades assigned essays. The objectives of this study were to determine the effects of four typeface and one handwriting graphics styles on the level and reliability of grades associated with themes in each graphic style. The independent variables, the five graphics styles, were four typefaces: ELITE, PICA, PROPORTIONAL, AND SCRIPT; and HANDWRITING. It was anticipated that themes in SCRIPT and HANDWRITING would be given lower grades than themes in the other typefaces, and also that moderate to high reliability of grading would obtain.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that there is a significant relationship between a person's cardiac rhythm and the degree of impairment, if any, of his handwriting, and that a trained document examiner can correctly pair samples of handwriting written by the same individual at varying levels of cardiac rhythm.
Abstract: Author SummaryThis experiment can be divided into three major parts: (1) To determine if there is a significant relationship between a person's cardiac rhythm and the degree of impairment, if any, of his handwriting; (2) To determine if a trained document examiner can correctly pair samples of handwriting written by the same individual at varying levels of cardiac rhythm; (3) To determine what writing habits or characteristics are most affected if impairment is present, (i.e., in what manner is impairment manifested).

Abstract: Author SummaryThe purpose of this study was to: (1) ascertain if sex of the writer can be determined from an examination of a standard written text at better than the level of chance, and (2) study the methods by which sex of the writer may be determined from the study of a writing.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present some frequently observed signs of readiness that appear as the child progresses from first attempts at vertical print to slant print and on to a slant cursive script.
Abstract: tinued progression at later levels. Unnecessary delay is too often apparent in teaching the motor skill of handwriting, and a few educators seem intent on keeping it that way. I shall present some frequently observed signs of readiness that appear as the child progresses from first attempts at vertical print to slant print and on to slant cursive script. It is clear that careful thought needs to be given to indicators that determine the rate of forward movement in educational
