TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid-drive vehicle equipped with a main IC engine and a battery-powered electric machine and including separate clutch couplings is described, where an electrical auxiliary can be engaged to power the transmission shaft and output gearbox when independently supplied from an accumulator.
Abstract: A method of controlling a hybrid-drive vehicle i.e. a vehicle equipped with a main IC engine (6) and a battery powered electric machine and including separate clutch couplings (3, 5) employs an electrical auxiliary (4) which can be engaged to power the transmission shaft (1) and output gearbox (2) when independently supplied from an accumulator (7) or to operate as a recharging generator. In this latter mode the IC engine (6) provides both vehicle propulsion and generator drive or on a downward incline regenerative braking may temporarily replace the engine (6) for accumulator (7) re-charging.The electric drive is employed for environmentally restricted low speed/low energy running e.g. in town centres followed by main engine running/recharging elsewhere.

TL;DR: In this paper, a write-read unit in the form of a compact hybrid drive for combination or alternative use of plugable, removable, encapsulated flat modules equipped with semiconductors (IC cards) and with one or several drives for rotating storage media, such as drives for floppy disks, hard disks, compact disks as well as magneto-optic drives to be connected to electronic devices such as electronic data processing machines, printers or controls.
Abstract: Write-read unit in the form of a compact hybrid drive for combination or alternative use of plugable, removable, encapsulated flat modules equipped with semiconductors (IC cards) and with one or several drives for rotating storage media, such as drives for floppy disks, hard disks, compact disks as well as magneto-optic drives to be connected to electronic devices, such as electronic data processing machines, printers or controls. The selection of the write-read unit is effected via an integrated electronics either joint or separate for the storage media. Existing electronic devices can be extended without requiring additional space in order to shift complex data processing transactions onto the IC card, thus relieving the central processing unit.

TL;DR: In this article, a hybrid drive using an IC engine (10) and an electric motor (12), both of which are coupled to a common gearbox (14), is designed for four-quadrant operation with positive motor torque in both drive directions.
Abstract: A hybrid drive uses an IC engine (10) and an electric motor (12), both of which are coupled to a common gearbox (14). The motor can run in both directions, and is used as the only power source for reversing. It is designed for four-quadrant operation with positive motor torque in both drive directions. It is in parallel with the IC engine, the engine being connected to the drive train by a separating clutch (46). A second clutch (s2, k1) is provided in the gearbox to disconnect both motor and engine from the drive. The gearbox has a spread of greater than 10, preferably 15 to 30, and the motor has an output of between 5% and 30% that of the engine.

TL;DR: In this article, a cylindrical stator and rotor are separated by an annular air gap, and an integrated switched coupling is used for torque transfer in an IC engine and transmission in an automobile.
Abstract: The electrical machine is incorporated in the drive train between the IC engine (6) and transmission (7) in an automobile, and has a cylindrical stator (2) and rotor (1) separated by an annular air gap (9) and an integrated switched coupling (3, 4) for torque transfer. The rotor lies on the outside of the stator, the switched coupling (3, 4) lying on the inside of the stator. In the case of a synchronous machine with electronic commutation, the rotor is provided with permanent magnets. ADVANTAGE - Compact electrical machine providing high drive torque and high power level, with good reliability.

TL;DR: In this article, an IC engine is operated with restricted r.p.m. at a constant output up to a specified vehicle speed and the fuel filling of the engine is regulated according to grade by an engine management processor and depending on the battery charge condition.
Abstract: The IC engine (3) is operated with restricted r.p.m. at a constant output up to a specified vehicle speed. The max. torque and the optimum exhaust gas value are used as the criteria for the specified reduced r.p.m. and output of the IC engine. The fuel filling of the engine is regulated according to grade by an engine management processor and depending on the battery charge condition. A generator (5) coupled to the engine across a mechanical branch drive (4) produces an electrical power output. This is used as the propulsion energy for the stepless regulated electrical drive (6). The vehicle management processor carries out a preselection of the generator and/or battery electric propulsion energy for the drive (6) such that this energy is produced from the static means of the generator and battery power, whilst excessive generator power is used for charging the battery. ADVANTAGE - Gives improved economic and environmental operation of hybrid drive compared with usual hybrid drives.

TL;DR: The hybrid drive unit uses at least one electric motor (14), which can be operated from a storage battery (32), or which is driven directly by an IC engine (10) used for recharging the battery as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: The hybrid drive unit uses at least one electric motor (14), which can be operated from a storage battery (32), or which is driven directly by an IC engine (10) used for recharging the battery (32). The IC engine has a lower power output than the electric motor (14) and can be used independently as the vehicle drive. Pref. the drive shaft (12) between the IC engine and the electric motor is used to drive a hydraulic pump (16), with respective switched couplings (18,20) for disconnecting the IC engine and the electric motor from the drive shaft (12). USE/ADVANTAGE - For road vehicle. Ensures low exhaust emissions and engine noise and prevents battery drainage by operation of auxiliaries e.g. interior heating.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe how standard three-phase pulsewidth modulated (PWM) switching patterns can be used to control the boost action of the inverter bridge in a 3-phase hybrid drive.
Abstract: The author describes how standard three-phase pulse-width modulated (PWM) switching patterns can be used to control the boost action of the inverter bridge in a three-phase hybrid drive. The control strategies allow the inverter bridge to operate as a boost-type switch without corrupting the three-phase PWM voltages at the drive output terminals. The maximum permissible voltage gain associated with the inverter boost action is shown to be dependent upon the amplitude modulation depth and the type of modulation scheme being used. >
