TL;DR: In this article , the first settlement on Mars could be planned and consider a 1000-person colony and the best place to settle on Mars, and make suggestions for the settlement's technical, architectural, social, and economic layout.
Abstract: From the farthest reaches of the universe to our own galaxy, there are many different celestial bodies that, even though they are very different, each have their own way of being beautiful. Earth, the planet with the best location, has been home to people for as long as we can remember. Even though we cannot be more thankful for all that Earth has given us, the human population needs to grow so that Earth is not the only place where people can live. Mars, which is right next to Earth, is the answer to this problem. Mars is the closest planet and might be able to support human life because it is close to Earth and shares many things in common. This paper will talk about how the first settlement on Mars could be planned and consider a 1000-person colony and the best place to settle on Mars, and make suggestions for the settlement’s technical, architectural, social, and economic layout. By putting together assumptions, research, and estimates, the first settlement project proposed in this paper will suggest the best way to colonize, explore, and live on Mars, which is our sister planet.

TL;DR: The role of the existence of forms of inculturation on the formation of tourist experiences in the Ganjuran Church has been investigated in this paper , with the results of in-depth interviews, field observations, photographs and literature.
Abstract: Most tourists visit Catholic pilgrimage tourism sites to 'pursue' holy water that is believed to cure disease and provide sustenance for them. This is what makes the miracle of holy water one of the unique attractions that play a role in shaping the tourist experience in various Catholic pilgrimage tourist attractions, including the pilgrimage tourism site of the Ganjuran Church complex. However, there is another special attraction that is so strong and prominent in the Ganjuran Church, namely the existence of forms of inculturation of Catholic religion in Javanese culture. This study aims to view and understand the role of the existence of forms of inculturation on the formation of tourist experiences in the Ganjuran Church. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, in which the data collected are types of qualitative data based on the results of in-depth interviews, field observations, photographs and literature. The result shows that the Ganjuran Church has several inculturative forms that have influenced tourism experiences starting from the temple, the inculturative panels of Way of the Cross, the Javanese church, the musical-instrumental gamelan, the Tirta Perwitasari holy water, the inculturative statues of Catholic saints and the Schmutzer hall. Align with these results , this study indicates that the existence of inculturation in the church has played a role in shaping various types of experiences, ranging from religious, cultural to recreational experiences.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the impacts of climate change on rural settlements, particularly those nested within ecological regions, and found that the local communities consider the "livelihoods" aspect to be the most critical element of resilience, and the progressive depreciation of nature-based livelihood practices is primarily influencing the local SESs.
Abstract: At the brink of climate change, the perpetual human–nature links observed in remotely placed rural settlements, particularly those nested within ecological regions, are alleged to be deprecating. While the indigenous communities across protected forest areas depend on the surrounding environment for their livelihoods, the emerging climate discrepancies are posing serious concerns to their sustenance. To better understand the impacts of climate change on rural settlements, this research deliberates on the case of the Melghat region in central India, with a specific focus on the Lawada and Kotha settlements. At first, a methodical understanding of Socio-Ecological Systems (SESs) in Melghat is established by meticulously uncovering its social and ecological characteristics. Thereafter, to unearth the interdependencies between the two systems, an indicator-based framework is established. The SESs in the selected settlements are then analyzed based on the evaluation of community responses for defined indicators, using the choice-based preference method. The study outcomes reveal that the local communities consider the “Livelihoods” aspect to be the most critical element of resilience, and the progressive depreciation of nature-based livelihood practices is primarily influencing the local SESs. Correspondingly, this research characterizes the overall results with the existing scenario in Melghat to determine the key areas of intervention. Emphasis has been laid on strengthening the traditional systems to build alternative livelihoods that are resilient to the impacts that are exacerbated by climate change.

TL;DR: In this paper , the challenges of cultural poverty experienced by people who are passive in trying, including those who face fatalistic thoughts about sustenance that has been arranged by Allah SWT so that there is no need to try to find food.
Abstract: The more serious problems of contemporary da'wah today align with the continued development of increasingly complex social human life, one of which is the challenge of cultural poverty. Implementing the da'wah function at least motivates the da'wah target always to try to avoid poverty. The purpose of this research is to find solutions to the problems of contemporary da'wah in terms of facing the challenges of cultural poverty experienced by people who are passive in trying, including those who face fatalistic thoughts about sustenance that has been arranged by Allah SWT so that there is no need to try to find food. The research method used is qualitative research with a library research approach. The study results show that contemporary da'wah's problems have faced various challenges and difficulties, both internally and externally. The challenge of cultural poverty finds at least four classifications of discussion: forms of cultural deprivation, the impact of cultural lack, the causes of poverty, poverty, and its alleviation strategies. Furthermore, the function of da'wah in overcoming cultural poverty will only be optimally achieved if the community realizes the importance of effort and hard work, including increasing the application of social care among fellow believers, which is very much needed in social life.

TL;DR: In this paper , an approach to the documents registered in the Venezuelan Deposit of Invalids in the year 1824, proposed from the perspective of public history, is proposed, where the case of the Department of Venezuela is taken, which was marked by a notorious violence in its Independence process.
Abstract: This investigation proposes an approach to the documents registered in the Venezuelan Deposit of Invalids in the year 1824, proposed from the perspective of Public History. The disabled militaries were an early concern for the authorities of the Republic of Colombia, and for this reason a series of laws were established to compensate the affectations suffered by these individuals. Among the different measures that were taken were the Depósitos de Inválidos, sites that were created to gather and register disabled militaries who were no longer able to provide for their sustenance. For the purposes of this research, the case of the Department of Venezuela is taken, which was marked by a notorious violence in its Independence process. From the documents gathered in the Deposit of Invalids it is possible to know some of the experiences to which the military were exposed in this period and from this it is proposed an approach to these experiences of the military with the interest of disseminating these stories.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors discuss recent advancements in the field that highlight the developmental role of nutritional and metabolic cues across multiple levels of organismal complexity, and discuss how nutrition and metabolism can also drive genetic programs to instruct developmental trajectories.
Abstract: Nutritional and metabolic cues are integral to animal development. Organisms use them both as sustenance and environmental indicators, fueling, informing and influencing developmental decisions. Classical examples, such as the Warburg effect, clearly illustrate how genetic programs control metabolic changes. However, the way that nutrition and metabolism can also modulate or drive genetic programs to instruct developmental trajectories is much more elusive, owing to several difficulties including uncoupling permissive and instructive functions. Here, we discuss recent advancements in the field that highlight the developmental role of nutritional and metabolic cues across multiple levels of organismal complexity.

TL;DR: In this article , an ethnographic study of two grassroots initiatives in Athens (Greece) intervening in the realm of life sustenance is presented, where these people-driven initiatives (re)compose networked infrastructures in ways that advance organisational modes of social provision different to institutions, and forms of political engagement and possibility.
Abstract: Infrastructures constitute key sites in the contemporary crisis regime. Emerging infrastructural configurations, particularly in the urban setting, are raising questions about the possibilities and challenges that these transformations may bring regarding more just and sustainable modes of social provision. Attention is being drawn to the grassroots, where experiments with novel forms of organisation are bringing about new collective contexts and political conceptions. In this context, infrastructure has been proposed as a concept to both examine contemporary crises and devise ways to cope with breakdown that can gesture towards living alternatives at the service of life. In this article, I engage this debate through an ethnographic study of two grassroots initiatives in Athens (Greece) intervening in the realm of life sustenance. I will show that these people-driven initiatives (re)compose networked infrastructures in ways that advance organisational modes of social provision different to institutions, and forms of political engagement and possibility. They do so by infrastructuring care through commoning. I will argue that infrastructural systems of care commons contribute to an infrastructural imagination that moves away from modern ideals towards values of relationality, conductivity, care and repair, which may nurture a transformative politics for a world in crisis, yet against crisis regimes.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors identify three MBOM digital transformer archetypes comprising unique configurations of MBOMs' growth and technology mindsets, namely: champion digital transformers, emerging digital transformer, and aspiring digital transformer, and explore the different learning capabilities and mechanisms through which microbusiness owners manage and sustain their digital transformation efforts.
Abstract: Despite the economic and societal significance of microbusinesses (MBs), digital transformation (DT) efforts in the MB sector have been rather sporadic. Further, prior DT studies have primarily examined large- and mid-sized organisations, leaving a perceptible void in the literature. In this paper, we leverage the unique context of MBs and recognise the key role of microbusiness owner-managers (MBOMs) for the management and sustenance of DT initiatives. Specifically, we theorise the influence of MBOMs’ DT readiness in terms of their growth and technology mindsets contributing to their DT learning resources and processes. Drawing on qualitative data from a series of structured interviews and focus groups with MBOMs and other key stakeholders in the Irish MB digital ecosystem, we identity three MBOM digital transformer archetypes comprising unique configurations of MBOMs’ growth and technology mindsets, namely: champion digital transformers, emerging digital transformers, and aspiring digital transformers. For each of these archetypes, we explore the different learning capabilities and mechanisms through which MBOMs manage and sustain their digital transformation efforts. Our findings offer theoretical contributions to the fields of digital transformation in microbusinesses, digital leadership, and digital capabilities. Our study also has significant implications for policy and practice.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors used the interpretive paradigm of Husserl's transcendental phenomenology to understand the meaning of income according to the perspective of city transportation bus drivers at the Paciran terminal during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abstract: Purpose: This study aims to understand in depth the meaning of income according to the perspective of city transportation bus drivers at the Paciran terminal during the COVID-19 pandemic. In this study, the meaning of income is formed by the environment of the city transport bus drivers.Method: This study uses the approach with the interpretive paradigm of Husserl's transcendental phenomenology. The phenomenological method emphasizes the meaning that arises from each individual's experience and awareness. Results: The results showed that the informants had different meanings of income. Income is interpreted as a form of material used to meet family needs and future savings. Income is a non-material form, namely the income of inner satisfaction by feeling happy because it helps passengers who need transportation, and income is a spiritual form by applying "flexible" fares to passengers who need transportation for humanitarian purposes, It is believed that someone will get more sustenance than what is given to others because sustenance has already been arranged.Implications: This study reveals the meaning of income from the perspective of bus drivers. The approach through different professions but close to the community provides expansion and development of accounting theory from various existing perspectives, including the internalization of local wisdom values in it.Novelty: This study has a novelty in Hurssel's phenomenological approach in the context of the meaning of income from the perspective of bus drivers which has a meaning that is contrary to the concept of accounting theory.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors predict crop yield using LSTM based on predicted weather data, which can benefited farmers to increase the production of the crop by predicting the weather prior to crop cultivation.
Abstract: Agriculture is a primordial occupation for human civilization, whereby farmers cultivate domesticated species of food. It refers to farming in general, which is an art and science that attempts to reform a component of the Earth's exterior through the cultivation of plants and other crops, as well as raising livestock for sustenance or other necessities for the soul and economic gain. As a result of the vital role that sustainable agriculture plays in the overall health of the nation, this sector of the economy has been the incubator for some of the most cutting-edge technological advances in recent history. Scientists and farmers have been working together to discover new methods that will allow them to increase crop production while simultaneously decreasing their water consumption and lessening their negative effects on the environment. Machine learning, deep learning, and a number of other methodologies are some examples of these approaches. A crop's expansion and maturation are both heavily influenced by the climate in which it is grown. The local climate, namely its wind speed, temperature, rainfall, and humidity, is the most exigent factor in determining the advancement or failure of crop production. If the weather is predicted prior to crop cultivation, it will be beneficial to the farmer. Machine learning is a new innovation that can solve people’s real-life problems. It is a technique where a machine can act like a human and learn through experiences and the use of different types of data. Now a day, Agriculture is one of the fields of machine learning where we use different types of machine learning algorithms to predict crop production based on climate data which can benefited farmers to increase the production of the crop. In these studies, we are going to predict crop yield using LSTM based on predicted weather data.

TL;DR: Kohler et al. as mentioned in this paper analyzed Pueblo societies in what is now the US Southwest from AD 600 to 1300 to uncover statistical and causal relationships between climate effects and collapse, and found that loss of resilience due to social factors such as increasing wealth inequality and climates unfavorable to maize production tips these societies into new basins of attraction resulting in transformations that are often accompanied by disaggregation, violence and culture change.
Abstract: In their analysis of Pueblo societies in what is now the US Southwest from AD 600 to 1300, Tim Kohler, Kyle Bocinsky, and Darcy Bird draw on multidisciplinary insights from complexity theory, archaeology, biology, and climate science—among other fields—to uncover statistical and causal relationships between climate effects and collapse. In societies with concentrated dependence on maize as their source of sustenance, the impacts of aridity on crop yields were to some extent mitigated by the societal fabric of the Pueblo communities. Nevertheless, they were also subject to periodic collapses or transformations. While each such event was preceded by a climate-induced constriction, not all constrictions led to transformations or terminations. The conjunction of loss of resilience due to social factors such as increasing wealth inequality and climates unfavorable to maize production tips these societies into new basins of attraction resulting in transformations that are often accompanied by disaggregation, violence, and culture change.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focused on the different varieties of wild edible plants (WEPs) actively utilized by the Orang Asli of Malaysia and their medicinal values, and they highlighted the naming system utilized by them, the gender/age gap, and the medicinal properties of these wild edibles.
Abstract: Background This research focused on the different varieties of wild edible plants (WEPs) actively utilized by the Orang Asli of Malaysia and their medicinal values. The Orang Asli have been relying on these plants for their sustenance and wellbeing. However, with environmental degradation, many of these wild edibles are slowly becoming sparse, which then has a spillover effect and has resulted in the erasure of knowledge. Therefore, this research paper also aims to highlight the naming system utilized by the Orang Asli, the gender/age gap and the medicinal properties of these wild edible plants. Methods This research was conducted to identify the important wild edibles used among the Orang Asli, using both semi-structured and field interviews, as well as ethnobotanical appraisal methods. With the assistance of 24 informants, a total of nine wild edible plants were identified based on their importance as food and medicine for the Orang Asli groups in three different Semai settlements. Results and discussion From the results obtained, the wild edibles identified in the study have potential medicinal value and have been used by the Orang Asli for many generations. Also, based on my results, older Orang Asli can potentially serve as a repository of knowledge of wild edible plants within their settlements, as they were more informed than young people. However, there is little remaining knowledge of their medicinal uses in Telimau; elder women retain more knowledge than elder men in Bukit Terang, and the greatest knowledge retention for both young and old is seen in the more remote settlement of Kampung Sat. Conclusion This research documents the medicinal uses of these wild edibles, and may provide a starting point for further studies on these species and encourage conservation initiatives, in addition to helping safeguard the indigenous knowledge and the distinct cultural identities of the Orang Asli.

Abstract: Rising of Indian as well as global population is such an alarming situation that, scientists are assuming, people will start suffering from protein as well as micronutrient deficiency within a few years from today itself. To maintain a protein-enriched diet, especially for vegetarians, pulses should be considered for their huge protein content. Keeping the above information in mind, the scientific community is trying to increase the productivity as well as the production of pulse crops, but from the plant breeder’s point of view, their genetic improvement is very slow and limited. So, breeders are thinking that only by using effective molecular markers can the competence of traditional breeding programs of pulse crops be ameliorated with better sustenance. In this present article, we have discussed seven important pulse crops (grown in India throughout summer and winter) and reviewed how scientists are trying to improve them genetically as well as try to uplift their productivity through exploring various molecular markers.

TL;DR: Using social provisioning as an analytical framework, the authors demonstrates that Canada's federal policy response to the 2008 economic crisis was firmly entrenched within a capitalist, neoliberal political economy that reproduces relations of inequality, and that the determination of what constitutes an economic crisis is informed by that inequality.
Abstract: <p>The 2008 economic crisis and subsequent recession in Canada was among the worst since the Great Depression. Mainstream economists have credited Canada’s policy response to the crisis in avoiding the worst of its effects. However, many Canadians continued to experience the aftershocks of the crisis long after economists considered it over. Feminist economics challenges the foundational assumptions and values of mainstream economics and defines economics as social provisioning – how we meet our human needs for sustenance. Using social provisioning as an analytical framework, this paper demonstrates that Canada’s federal policy response to the 2008 economic crisis was firmly entrenched within a capitalist, neoliberal political economy that reproduces relations of inequality, and that the determination of what constitutes an economic crisis is informed by that inequality. This analysis reveals both an alternative policy response to crisis, and a caution for future crises if past mistakes are repeated. </p>

TL;DR: This paper argued that globalization and internationalization work in tandem with neo-colonial and neoliberal operations to create a class of global citizens that must support the economic aspirations of English imperial expansion and sustenance.
Abstract: The global spread and dominance of English in higher education has reached alarming heights. While there has been a drive to argue for the relevance and importance of education through local languages, English has snatched the biggest slice of the cake by subtly imposing itself as the sole global language of education. This paper interrogates the sociolinguistic problems posed by the hegemony of English language. It argues that globalization and internationalization work in tandem with neo-colonial and neoliberal operations to create a class of global citizens that must support the economic aspirations of English imperial expansion and sustenance. The arguments are drawn from the experiences of Middle East and North Africa as well as lessons from Eastern and Southern Africa. The paper adopts a critical approach in order to place urgency against the onslaught of English medium of instruction in global higher education. This is done by problematizing the rhetoric of globalized and internationalized education. The paper then draws conclusions on epistemic access in the context of burgeoning knowledge economies. It argues that English medium of instruction is implicated in stalling access to knowledge for the great majority in order to cater for and safeguard the economic dominance of the elite minority.

TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed a solution to reduce the carbon footprint of ICT while ensuring its sustenance in the future, which encompasses the use of energy-efficient hardware and software, as well as the adoption of sustainable practices in ICT operations.
Abstract: The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become an essential component of Higher Education organizations. However, the sustainability of ICT in the future is a major concern due to the high energy consumption and associated environmental impacts. The solution to this problem is Green ICT, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of ICT while ensuring its sustenance in the future. Green ICT encompasses the use of energy-efficient hardware and software, as well as the adoption of sustainable practices in ICT operations. By implementing these measures, Higher Education organizations can significantly reduce their energy consumption and carbon emissions, while ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of their ICT infrastructure. One of the key strategies for implementing Green ICT is the use of energy-efficient hardware such as servers, storage devices, and network equipment. These devices are designed to consume less energy while maintaining high performance. In addition, virtualization technologies can be used to consolidate multiple physical servers into fewer, more powerful ones, thereby reducing energy consumption and saving space. Another important strategy is the use of energy-efficient software applications. These applications are designed to consume less energy while maintaining the same level of functionality. For example, cloud-based applications can reduce energy consumption by minimizing the need for local servers and storage devices. In addition to hardware and software, Green ICT also involves the adoption of sustainable practices in ICT operations. These practices include the use of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal power, as well as the implementation of energy management systems and the adoption of energy-efficient policies and practices. Higher Education organizations can also promote Green ICT by raising awareness among their staff and students. This can be achieved through training programs, workshops, and seminars on Green ICT practices and their benefits. In addition, the organization can encourage the use of eco-friendly ICT devices such as laptops and Smartphone’s that have been designed to consume less energy and emit fewer emissions. Green ICT is a solution for the sustenance of ICT in the future. By implementing energy-efficient hardware and software, adopting sustainable practices in ICT operations, and promoting awareness among staff and students, Higher Education organizations can significantly reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of their ICT infrastructure. Green ICT is not only good for the environment, but it also benefits the organization in terms of cost savings, improved efficiency, and enhanced reputation.
