Abstract: Fifty-nine species of Tubifieidae are recorded from Belize on the Caribbean side of Central America. Twenty-five are new to science: Ainudrilus geminus sp.n., Heronidrilus gravidus sp.n., Heterodrilus flexuosus sp.n., H. ranus sp.n., H. modestus sp.n., Coralliodrilus rugosus sp.n., C. randyi sp.n., Phallodrilus compactus sp. n., P. singularis sp.n., P. vicinus sp.n., P. nasutus sp.n., P. bipartitus sp.n., Inanidrilus reginae sp.n., Olavius finitimus sp.n., O. vacuus sp.n., O. (Olavius) pravus sp.n., Bathydrilus vetustus sp.n., B. egenus sp.n., Thalassodrilides bruneti sp.n., Limnodriloides anxius sp.n., L. major sp.n., L. sacculus sp.n., L. adversus sp.n., Smithsonidrilus appositus sp.n., S. involutus sp.n. Phylogenetic analyses indicate that Heterodrilus Pierantoni, 1902, Thalassodrilides Brinkhurst & Baker, 1979, and Marcusaedrilus Righi & Kanner, 1979, are paraphyletic taxa as previously defined. They are therefore revised to include also apomorphic species earlier attributed to separate genera; in so doing, Marcusaedrilus becomes a junior synonym of Smithsonidrilus Brinkhurst, 1966. Smithsonidrilus pauper sp.n. (Peru), and S. multiglandularis sp.n. (Florida and Puerto Rico) are also described, and Limnodriloides claviger Erseus, 1982 is regarded as a synonym of L. pierantonii (Hrabě, 1971).

TL;DR: A review of the original descriptions and available types of the South American freshwater stingrays Trygon aiereba Muller & Henle, 1841, Trygon strogylopterus Schomburgk, 1843 and Disceus thayeri Garman, 1913 indicates that these three nominal species are synonymous.
Abstract: A review of the original descriptions and available types of the South American freshwater stingrays Trygon aiereba Muller & Henle, 1841, Trygon strogylopterus Schomburgk, 1843 and Disceus thayeri Garman, 1913 indicates that these three nominal species are synonymous. The senior name, placed in the monotypic genus Paratrygon Dumeril, 1865, established for Trygon aiereba, is available and valid. Based on its description, T. aiereba is a freshwater stingray. Therefore, this taxon is not the same as Raja ajereba Walbaum and Raja orbicularis Schneider, both names established for the marine "Aiereba" of Marcgrave, and which preferably should be treated as nomina dubia. Paratrygon does not replace Potamotrygon Garman, 1877 as the type genus, because the family name Potamotrygonidae Garman, 1877 has priority over Paratrygonidade Gill, 1893.

TL;DR: The antennae and uropods ofAbyssianira are shown to be of identical construction to those of the Paramunnidae, those points being the only ones on which Abyssianira has been kept separate from theParamunnidae in recent studies.
Abstract: Just, J., 1990. Abyssianiridae, a synonym of Paramunnulae (Crustacea: Isopoda: Ascllota). with two new species of Abyssianira from south-eastern Australia. Memoirs of Ihe Museum of Victoria 50(2): 403-4 i 5. Abyssianira bathyalis sp. nov. and A. lasmaniensis sp. nov. are described from bathyal depths of south-eastern Australia. The history and the concepts of the family name Abyssianiridae Menzies, 1 956 are outlined. The antennae and uropods ofAbyssianira are shown to be of identical construction to those of the Paramunnidae, those points being the only ones on which Abyssianira has been kept separate from the Paramunnidae in recent studies. On that basis, Abyssianiridae is placed in synonymy of Paramunnidae Vanholfen, 1914.

Abstract: Following examination of the Braconinae collections in the Museum fur Naturkunde, Berlin and the Institut fur Pflanzenschutzforschung, Eberswalde, the type specimen of a total of 29 species have been rediscovered. Thirty new combinations are reported and the systematic positions of a further 25 species have been confirmed. Lectotypes designations are made for 20 species. One new generic synonym is reported: Ateleodoryctes Cameron, 1910 is a junior synonym of Cratobracon Cameron, 1901. Three new specific synonyms are indicated: Ipobracon tessmanni Szepligeti, 1914 (= Monilobracon specious Quicke, 1984); Ipobracon erlangeri Szepligeti, 1914 (= Ipobracon setosus Szepligeti, 1914); Ipobracon maximus Szepligeti, 1914 (= Iphiaulax elegantus Szepligeti, 1914).

Abstract: Five tribus names to be used in the Tricholomataceae sensu lato are introduced or validated, viz. Biannularieae, Laccarieae, Lyophylleae, Macrocystidieae, and Xeruleae. It is demonstrated that Fayod’s tribus names are to be considered validly published and that tribus Hygrophoreae Kuhner is a later homonym and synonym of tribus Hygrophoreae P. Henn.

TL;DR: The taxon appears to be a Mascarene endemic, but the possibility that it is a synonym of, and an earlier name for, H. pustulata Reeve, 1846, needs to be investigated.
Abstract: A lectotype for Haliotis rugosa Lamarck, 1822, is designated. Conspecific material has been collected in the Mascarene Islands. The Mahebourg area of Mauritius is designated as type locality. The taxon appears to be a Mascarene endemic, but the possibility that it is a synonym of, and an earlier name for, H. pustulata Reeve, 1846, needs to be investigated.

TL;DR: The taxonomic status of Hydatotrephis Macleay, 1871 is discussed and the taxon is downgraded to a subgenus of Enochrus Thomson, 1859, and Farana Knisch, 1922 is placed as a synonym of Hyd atotre Memphis.
Abstract: The taxonomic status of Hydatotrephis Macleay, 1871 is discussed and the taxon is downgraded to a subgenus of Enochrus Thomson, 1859. Farana Knisch, 1922 is placed as a synonym of Hydatotrephis. Lectotypes are designated for Hydatotrephis mastersii Macleay, 1871 and Farana simplex Knisch, 1922, which are found to be conspecific. A key to subgenera of Enochrus is given, E. (Hydatotrephis) mastersii is illustrated and redescribed, and notes are given on its habitat and distribution.

TL;DR: The morphological characters of male and female S. melaniola adults with the close relatives, S. viaria and S. sibirica are compared and it is concluded that they are not the same species and that S.melaniola is an independent species.
Abstract: In a recent paper, V. Michelsen(1988, Systematic Entomology 13: 271–314) revised 18 world species of anthomyiid cone and seed pests and described a new genus,Strobilomyia gen. n. He consideredS. melaniola of Northeast China to be a synonym ofS. viaria of North America. That they are the same species is not accepted. We compared the morphological characters of male and femaleS. melaniola adults with the close relatives,S. viaria andS. sibirica. We conclude that they are not the same species and that S.melaniola is an independent species.
