The effect of temperature on the geopolymerization process of a metakaolin-based geopolymer

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of different curing temperatures on the geopolymerization process, physical, mechanical and optical properties of a metakaolin-based geopolymers activated by alkali was studied systematically by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), SEM, UV/Vis Spectrophotometry, Leaching analysis and Brunauer-Emmet-Teller method (BET).
Journal ArticleDOI

Incorporation of photoactive TiO2 in an aluminosilicate inorganic polymer by ion exchange

TL;DR: In this article, a procedure to ion exchange in an aluminosilicate inorganic polymer (geopolymer) in order to incorporate photoactive TiO 2 was described, and the final geopolymers were characterized by SEM, FT-IR, Raman, XRD, BET, UV/Vis spectroscopy and fluorescence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Addition of iron for the removal of the β-AlFeSi intermetallic by refining of α-AlFeSi phase in an Al–7.5Si–3.6Cu alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, a new method of removal of β-AlFeSi that could be adopted in the aluminum smelting industry in aluminum alloys with a low cooling rate with a secondary dendritic spacing of about 37μm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sonochemical deposition of silver-TiO2 nanocomposites onto foamed waste-glass: Evaluation of Eosin Y decomposition under sunlight irradiation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) to characterize the oxides of TiO 2 formed onto the porous aluminosilicate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Small addition effect of agave biomass ashes in cement mortars

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of combustion temperature of the A. salmiana as it could happen in the energy production was studied, and the characteristics of these residues were analyzed to serve as a basis for possible future applications in construction materials.
