Journal ArticleDOI
Electroactive phases of poly(vinylidene fluoride) : determination, processing and applications
TL;DR: In this article, the main characteristics of the electroactive phases of polyvinylidene fluoride and copolymers are summarized, and some interesting potential applications and processing challenges are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nucleation of the Electroactive γ Phase and Enhancement of the Optical Transparency in Low Filler Content Poly(vinylidene)/Clay Nanocomposites
TL;DR: In this paper, the piezoelectric d33 response of montmorillonite clay was measured and the obtained value of d33 is −7 pC/N, lower than in β-PVDF obtained by mechanical stretching but still among the largest coefficients obtained for polymers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dielectric relaxation, ac conductivity and electric modulus in poly(vinylidene fluoride)/NaY zeolite composites
A. C. Lopes,Carlos M. Costa,R. Sabater i Serra,Isabel C. Neves,J.L. Gómez Ribelles,Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the dielectric function, ac conductivity and electric modulus of polyvinylidene fluoride/zeolite composites prepared by solvent casting at 190°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aluminosilicate and aluminosilicate based polymer composites : present status, applications and future trends
TL;DR: Aluminosilicates have traditionally been important materials for applications related to adsorbents, water softeners, catalysis and mechanical and thermal reinforcement due to their high surface area, excellent thermal/hydrothermal stability, high shape-selectivity and superior ion exchange ability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of ionic liquid anion and cation on the physico-chemical properties of poly(vinylidene fluoride)/ionic liquid blends
R. Mejri,R. Mejri,J. C. Dias,A. C. Lopes,S. Bebes Hentati,Maria Manuela Silva,Gabriela Botelho,A. Mão De Ferro,José M. S. S. Esperança,Alberto Maceiras,José Manuel Laza,José Luis Vilas,L. M. León,L. M. León,Senentxu Lanceros-Méndez +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of different ionic liquids (ILs) on the electroactive β-phase, thermal, mechanical and electrical properties of the polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) blend was evaluated.
