The x-ray luminous galaxy cluster population at 0.9 < z ≲ 1.6 as revealed by the XMM-Newton Distant Cluster Project*

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the largest sample to date of spectroscopically confirmed x-ray luminous high-redshift galaxy clusters comprising 22 systems in the range as part of the XMM-Newton Distant Cluster Project (XDCP).
Journal ArticleDOI

Discovery of a massive X-ray luminous galaxy cluster at z = 1.579

TL;DR: In this paper, the discovery of a very distant galaxy cluster serendipitously detected in the archive of the XMM-Newton mission, within the scope of XMMUJ0044.0-2033, was reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

The X-ray luminous galaxy cluster population at 0.9<z<~1.6 as revealed by the XMM-Newton Distant Cluster Project

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the largest sample of spectroscopically confirmed X-ray luminous high-redshift galaxy clusters to date comprising 22 systems in the range 09 \sim09 and 15 \sim15.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unusual quasars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey selected by means of Kohonen self-organising maps

TL;DR: In this article, the authors exploit the spectral archive of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) data to select unusual quasar spectra, which are dominated by either broad absorption lines (BALs), unusual red continua (27%), weak emission lines (18%), or conspicuously strong optical and/or UV iron emission (11%).
