In-beam gamma -ray spectroscopy above 100Sn using the new technique of recoil decay tagging
E. S. Paul,Philip Woods,Thomas Davinson,R. D. Page,Paul J. Sellin,C. W. Beausang,R. M. Clark,R.A. Cunningham,S. A. Forbes,D. B. Fossan,A. Gizon,J. Gizon,K. Hauschild,I. M. Hibbert,A.N. James,D. R. LaFosse,I.H. Lazarus,H. Schnare,Jayne Simpson,R. Wadsworth,M. P. Waring +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, a novel method of selecting \ensuremath{\gamma}-ray transitions in heavy nuclei (Ag100) at the proton drip-line has been attempted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gamma radiation from the N=Z nucleus 4080Zr
C. J. Lister,M. Campbell,A. A. Chishti,W. Gelletly,L. Goettig,R. Moscrop,B. J. Varley,A.N. James,T P Morrison,H. G. Price,J. Simpson,K. Connel,Ö. Skeppstedt +12 more
TL;DR: Coincidence measurements between the isolated isotope and prompt gamma radiation allowed the identification of decays from low-lying states at E = 290 and 828 keV which indicate that /sup 80/Zr has an extremely large quadrupole deformation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Microsecond mass separation of heavy compound nucleus residues using the Daresbury recoil separator
TL;DR: The recoil separator at the Daresbury Laboratory is described in this article, where an efficient charged particle beam transport system is combined with Wien filters to select heavy ions within a small velocity range at angles around 0° which have been produced by heavy ion induced reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance of the Recoil Mass Spectrometer and its detector systems at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility
Carl J Gross,Carl J Gross,T. N. Ginter,Dan Shapira,W.T. Milner,J. W. McConnell,A.N. James,J.W. Johnson,J.W. Johnson,J. Mas,P.F. Mantica,R.L. Auble,J. J. Das,J. L. Blankenship,J. L. TL;DR: The recently commissioned Recoil Mass Spectrometer (RMS) at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility (HRIBF) is described in this article, consisting of a momentum separator followed by an E-D-E Rochester-type mass spectrometer.
Journal ArticleDOI
Radioactivity of neutron deficient isotopes in the region N>82>Z
Robert Page,Philip Woods,R.A. Cunningham,Thomas Davinson,N.J. Davis,A.N. James,K. Livingston,Paul J. Sellin,Alan Shotter +8 more
TL;DR: The {alpha} decay characteristics of 88 decay lines emanating from 74 isotopes are presented, including new {alpha] decay lines identified in the neutron deficient nuclides.
