A point-like source of extreme ultraviolet radiation based on a discharge in a non-uniform gas flow, sustained by powerful gyrotron radiation of terahertz frequency band

TL;DR: In this paper, the possibility and prospects of extreme ultraviolet (UV) point-like source development are discussed, based on the discharge sustained by powerful gyrotron radiation of terahertz (THz) frequency band in non-uniform gas flow injected into vacuum volume through a nozzle with diameter less than 1'mm.
Journal ArticleDOI

New progress of high current gasdynamic ion source (invited).

TL;DR: Gasdynamic ECRIS has demonstrated a good performance producing high current (100-300 mA) multi-charged ion beams with moderate average charge (Z = 4-5 for argon) and has appeared to be especially effective in low emittance hydrogen and deuterium beams formation.
Journal ArticleDOI

High current proton beams production at Simple Mirror Ion Source 37.

TL;DR: The latest results of high current proton beam production at SMIS 37 facility at the Institute of Applied Physics (IAP RAS) are presented and a possibility of further improvement through the development of an advanced extraction system is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gasdynamic ECR source of multicharged ions based on a cusp magnetic trap

TL;DR: In this article, the possibility of creating an effective ECR source of multicharged ions based on a cusp magnetic trap was investigated numerically and in experiments, and the results of experiments with the simplest kind of cusp trap have demonstrated good correspondence with theoretical calculations, and therefore the adequacy of the developed approach and the possibility to build more effective source on this basis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Plasma creation by terahertz electromagnetic radiation

TL;DR: The results of experiments aimed at the study of the discharge in a focused beam of terahertz waves in argon under near-atmospheric pressures are presented in this paper.
