Resilience to Disturbance Despite Limited Dispersal and Self-Recruitment in Tropical Barrel Sponges: Implications for Conservation and Management

TL;DR: This study finds the highest abundance of both barrel sponge species (although they were generally smaller) at a site that has been severely impacted by humans over the last fifty years, suggesting that barrel sponges exhibit environmental adaptation to declining environmental quality and has important implications for the management and conservation of these important reef species.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Influence of Si:Al and Na:Al on the Physical and Microstructure Characters of Geopolymers Based on Metakaolin

TL;DR: In this article, the physicico-mechanical and microstructure properties of geopolymers synthesized from metakaolin activated with sodium silicate solution were investigated using X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and the micro-structure of the paste and the interfacial transition zone (ITZ) between the aggregate and the matrix of a geopolymer were studied by using transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and scanning Electron microscope (SEM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluorene Removal by Biosurfactants Producing Bacillus megaterium

TL;DR: The results clearly demonstrated that carbon substrates affect biosurfactant production in terms of yield, and that the increase of fluorene removal was due to the presence of the amended crude biosurFactant from MSM-AA and MSM-CO, respectively, after 28 days.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pervaporation membrane based on laterite zeolite-geopolymer for ethanol-water separation

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of inorganic membrane made from a zeolite-geopolymer for pervaporation of ethanol-water separation was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Gamma Ray Radiation Mutant Rice on Local aged Dwarf

TL;DR: The results showed that 200 gray dose of radiation with the potential to generate mutants that are shorter and faster harvesting showed that a very low percentage are very large percentage of empty grains with either radiation treatment on the Ase Lapang and Mandoti varieties.
