Journal ArticleDOI

A novel duplex WDM-PON with DPSK modulated downstream and re-modulation of the downlink signal for OOK upstream

TL;DR: In this article, a 10 Gbit/s full duplex wavelength division multiplexing passive optical network (WDM-PON) system with a colorless WDM PON was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel symmetric 10 Gbit/s architecture with a single feeder fiber for WDM-PON based on chirp-managed laser

TL;DR: In this article, a single feeder fiber architecture for WDM-PON based on directly modulated chirp managed laser (CML) is proposed, where the downlink (DL) signal output from the laser is converted to return-to-zero (RZ) differential phase shift signal using a pulse carver.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single-feeder fiber colorless wavelength-division-multiplexing passive optical network using differential quadrature phase-shift keying downstream and intensity remodulated upstream signals

TL;DR: In this article, a centralized light-wave colorless WDM-PON architec- ture based on a single feeder fiber is proposed and demonstrated, where at the optical line terminal, differential quadrature phase shift keying (DQPSK) modulated signal at 10 Gbps is utilized for downstream transmission.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Performance Based Comparative Analysis of High Speed Electro Absorption and Mach-Zehnder Modulators to Mitigate Chromatic Dispersion at 140 GHz Millimeter Wave

TL;DR: The Mach-Zehnder Modulator performs better than Electro Absorption Modulator at millimeter wave frequency and both FBG and DCF provide the same performance, however in the case of EAM, DCF is more effective as dispersion compensator than FBG at 25km.
Journal ArticleDOI

An AWG based colorless WDM-PON with RZ-DPSK modulated downstream and re-modulation of DL signal for OOK upstream

TL;DR: In this paper, an arrayed waveguide granting (AWG) based 10 Gbps full duplex WDM-PON utilizing a return-to-zero differential phase shift keying (RZDPSK) modulation technique for downlink direction and then re-modulation of the downlink signal for the uplink direction using intensity modulation technique (OOK) with a data rate of 10Gbps per channel.
