Journal ArticleDOI
Cabergoline in the treatment of hyperprolactinemia: a study in 455 patients.
Johan Verhelst,Roger Abs,Dominique Maiter,Annick Van den Bruel,Mark Vandeweghe,Brigitte Velkeniers,Jean Mockel,G. Lamberigts,Patrick Petrossians,Peter Coremans,Charles Mahler,Achille Stevenaert,Jan Verlooy,Christian Raftopoulos,Albert Beckers +14 more
TL;DR: The high efficacy and tolerability of cabergoline in the treatment of pathological hyperprolactinemia is confirmed, in a large-scale retrospective study, leaving few patients with unacceptable side effects or inadequate clinical response.
Journal Article
Preoperative Evaluation of 54 Gliomas by PET with Fluorine-18-Fluorodeoxyglucose and/or Carbon-11- Methionine
Bruno Kaschten,Achille Stevenaert,Bernard Sadzot,Manuel Deprez,Christian Degueldre,G. Del Fiore,André Luxen,Michel Reznik +7 more
TL;DR: Both tracers are useful for the prediction of the histologic grade and prognosis of gliomas, despite the impossibility of differentiation between Grades II and III astrocytomas with MET.
Journal ArticleDOI
The changing spectrum of TSH-secreting pituitary adenomas: diagnosis and management in 43 patients.
Hernan Gonzalo Valdes Socin,Philippe Chanson,Brigitte Delemer,A. Tabarin,Vincent Rohmer,Jean Mockel,Achille Stevenaert,Albert Beckers +7 more
TL;DR: It is observed that TSH-secreting pituitary tumors are today more frequently found at the stage of microadenomas, medially located, without associated hypersecretions and needing new exploration methods as compared with older series.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical Characterization of Familial Isolated Pituitary Adenomas
Adrian Daly,Marie Lise Jaffrain-Rea,Antonio Ciccarelli,Hernan Valdes-Socin,Vincent Rohmer,Guido Tamburrano,C. Borson-Chazot,Bruno Estour,Enrica Ciccarelli,Thierry Brue,Piero Ferolla,Philippe Emy,A. Colao,E. De Menis,Philippe Lecomte,F. Penfornis,Brigitte Delemer,Jérôme Bertherat,J.-L. Wémeau,W. W. de Herder,F. Archambeaud,Achille Stevenaert,Alain Calender,Arnaud Murat,Francesco Cavagnini,Albert Beckers +25 more
TL;DR: Homogeneous and heterogeneous expression of prolactinomas, somatotropinoma, NS, and Cushing's disease can occur within families in the absence of MEN1/CNC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gross total resection or debulking of pituitary adenomas improves hormonal control of acromegaly by somatostatin analogs
Patrick Petrossians,Liliane Borges-Martins,Consuelo Espinoza,Adrian Daly,Daniela Betea,Hernan Valdes-Socin,Achille Stevenaert,Philippe Chanson,Albert Beckers +8 more
TL;DR: Gross total tumor resection or debulking increases the likelihood of achieving biochemical disease control with SSAs in acromegalic patients with adenomas that were not amenable to complete surgical resection and in whom primary SSA therapy was unable to achieve good biochemical control.
