Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative Genomic Analysis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis Drug Resistant Strains from Russia

TL;DR: This work sequenced three genomes of Russian MTB strains of different phenotypes – drug susceptible, MDR and XDR and confirmed drug resistant status of these isolates that harbored almost all known drug-resistance associated mutations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mass spectrometry based methods for the discrimination and typing of mycobacteria.

TL;DR: MALDI-ToF MS has potential as a rapid and reproducible platform for the identification and typing of Mycobacterium species and was developed and validated and matched completely to classical spoligotyping data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular typing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis circulated in Moscow, Russian Federation

TL;DR: Comparison of the 24-VNTR locus typing and spoligotyping data with revealed resistance-associated mutation allows us to make a suggestion that the active transmission of MDR strains and the independent appearance of drug resistance during chemotherapy occurred in the studied population simultaneously.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mass-spectrometry based minisequencing method for the rapid detection of drug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis

TL;DR: It is deduced that 91% of RIF-resistant and 94% of INH-resistant strains can be identified using the technique suggested and the approach is rapid, reliable and allows to reveal the drug resistance of M. tuberculosis strains within 12 h after sample isolation.
