Journal ArticleDOI
Cusp confinement of high‐beta plasmas produced by a laser pulse from a freely‐falling deuterium ice pellet
TL;DR: In this paper, the experimental results of cusp confinement for laser-produced deuterium plasmas were investigated and it was shown that the loss aperture size of the ring cusp is much smaller than the local ion gyroradius.
Journal ArticleDOI
Superconducting Magnet Producing a Cusp Type Magnetic Field for High Temperature Plasma Trapping
Tadashi Sekiguchi,Mitsumori Tanimoto,Akio Kitsunezaki,Katsuhiro Akashi,Masatami Iwamoto,Enju Nishiyama +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a cusp-type magnetic field was constructed by a pair of superconducting magnets, which was used to trap high temperature plasma, using a liquid helium vessel.
