Cytokines down-regulate expression of major cytochrome P-450 enzymes in adult human hepatocytes in primary culture.

TL;DR: These results provide the first demonstration that various cytokines act directly on human hepatocytes to affect expression of major P-450 genes and that a wide range of responses can be observed among the enzymes for a given cytokine, suggesting that different regulatory mechanisms may be involved.
Journal ArticleDOI

Viability and function in primary culture of adult hepatocytes from various animal species and human beings after cryopreservation

TL;DR: The results show that a simple and reproducible freeze/thaw protocol can be used to cryopreserve hepatocytes from various species including human beings and that after thawing a large fraction of the cells is still viable and capable of expressing various functions in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ectopic Germinal Centers Are Rare in Sjögren’s Syndrome Salivary Glands and Do Not Exclude Autoreactive B Cells

TL;DR: Characterization of B cells of germinal center (GC)-like structures infiltrating the salivary glands of patients with Sjögren’s syndrome indicates that, in SGs, a minority of B cell clusters represent genuine GC cells, while the majority manifest features of being type 2 transitional B cells and marginal zone cells.
