Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of Acute and Chronic Myocardial Infarcts by Multidetector Computed Tomography Comparison With Contrast-Enhanced Magnetic Resonance

TL;DR: CE-MDCT can characterize acute and chronic MI with contrast patterns similar to CE-MR and may provide important information on infarct size and viability at the time of noninvasive coronary imaging, because iodated contrast agents have similar kinetics in infarCTed and noninfarcted myocardium as gadolinium DPTA.
Journal ArticleDOI

Although pig allogeneic mesenchymal stem cells are not immunogenic in vitro, intracardiac injection elicits an immune response in vivo.

TL;DR: The test of the immune response to allogeneic MSCs in immunocompetent swines both in vitro and in vivo suggests that in vivo characteristics of allogeneo-mosenchymal stem cells might differ and emphasizes the importance of pursuing research both in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Long-term outcome and alloantibody production in a non-myeloablative regimen for induction of renal allograft tolerance

TL;DR: Production of anti-donor antibody was prevented in most recipients that developed mixed chimerism in the regimens with splenectomy at the time of donor bone marrow transplantation and induction of B cell tolerance is less likely and the result is late onset of alloantibody production and allograft rejection.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gradient-based delineation of the primary GTV on FDG-PET in non-small cell lung cancer: A comparison with threshold-based approaches, CT and surgical specimens.

TL;DR: FDG-PET improved the GTV definition in NSCLC including when the primary tumor was surrounded by modifications of the lung parenchyma, and among various PET segmentation methods, the gradient-based technique best estimated the true tumor volume.
Journal ArticleDOI

Small intestinal submucosa extracellular matrix (CorMatrix®) in cardiovascular surgery: a systematic review.

TL;DR: An overview of the biology of porcine SIS-ECM is provided and preclinical and clinical studies published lack systematic reporting of functional and pathological findings in sufficient numbers of subjects and large-scale clinical studies are needed driven by robust protocols that aim to quantify the pathological process of tissue repair.
