Journal ArticleDOI
The neural substrate of gesture recognition.
Mirta F. Villarreal,Esteban A. Fridman,Alejandra Amengual,German Falasco,Eliana Roldan Gerscovich,Erlinda R. Ulloa,Ramón Leiguarda +6 more
TL;DR: Results show that a similar neural substrate, albeit, with a distinct engagement underlies the cognitive processing of transitive and intransitive gestures recognition, and suggest that selective disruptions in these circuits may lead to distinct clinical deficits.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mitoxantrone as rescue therapy in worsening relapsing–remitting MS patients receiving IFN-β
TL;DR: It is concluded that brief courses of MX may provide a safe treatment alternative for RR MS patients who experience rapid and severe worsening of their disease despite IFN-beta treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alerting network dysfunction in early multiple sclerosis.
Lucia Crivelli,Mauricio F. Farez,Claudio Gonzalez,Marcela Fiol,Alejandra Amengual,Ramón Leiguarda,Jorge Correale +6 more
TL;DR: Early relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis particularly affects the Alerting domain of attention, whereas the Orienting and Executive Control domains are not affected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of C9orf72 in patients with frontotemporal dementia and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis from Argentina.
Tatiana Itzcovich,Zhengrui Xi,Horacio Martinetto,Patricio Chrem-Méndez,María Julieta Russo,Bruno de Ambrosi,Osvaldo D. Uchitel,Martin Nogues,Emanuel Silva,Galeno Rojas,Pablo Bagnatti,Alejandra Amengual,Jorge Campos,Ekaterina Rogaeva,Peter St George-Hyslop,Peter St George-Hyslop,Ricardo F. Allegri,Gustavo Sevlever,Ezequiel Surace +18 more
TL;DR: The frequency of the C9orf72 expansion in a Latin American cohort of FTD and ALS patients was similar to that reported for patients in Europe and North America, whereas the frequency in the sporadic ALS group was significantly lower.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spatial-attention and emotional evocation: line bisection performance and visual art emotional evocation.
Valeria Drago,Glen R. Finney,Paul S. Foster,Paul S. Foster,Alejandra Amengual,Yong Jeong,Tomoiuki Mizuno,Gregory P. Crucian,Kenneth M. Heilman,Kenneth M. Heilman +9 more
TL;DR: Differences in attentional bias between the two groups, as indicated by their LB performance, might influence their evocative impact or reactions and also be a 'barometer' of other RTP functions, including emotional processing.
