Inside the CBF locus in Poaceae
Alessandro Tondelli,Enrico Francia,Delfina Barabaschi,Marianna Pasquariello,Nicola Pecchioni +4 more
TL;DR: In this review, recent advances on the organization and diversity at the CBF cluster locus in the grasses are provided and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of bakanae disease resistance loci in japonica rice through genome wide association study.
Andrea Volante,Alessandro Tondelli,Maria Aragona,Maria Teresa Valente,Chiara Biselli,Francesca Desiderio,Paolo Bagnaresi,Slavica Matić,Maria Lodovica Gullino,Alessandro Infantino,Davide Spadaro,Giampiero Valè,Giampiero Valè +12 more
TL;DR: New effective sources for bakanae resistance were identified on rice chromosomes 1 and 4 and tools for resistance breeding are provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Exome sequences and multi-environment field trials elucidate the genetic basis of adaptation in barley.
Daniela Bustos-Korts,Ian K. Dawson,Joanne Russell,Alessandro Tondelli,Davide Guerra,Chiara Ferrandi,Francesco Strozzi,Ezequiel L. Nicolazzi,Márta Molnár-Láng,Hakan Özkan,Mária Megyeri,Péter Mikó,Esra Çakır,Enes Yakışır,Noemi Trabanco,Stefano Delbono,Stylianos Kyriakidis,Allan Booth,Davide Cammarano,Martin Mascher,Peter Werner,Luigi Cattivelli,Laura Rossini,Nils Stein,Benjamin Kilian,Robbie Waugh,Robbie Waugh,Fred A. van Eeuwijk +27 more
TL;DR: Analysis of a diverse panel of 371 domesticated lines of the model crop barley supports a gene‐level scientific understanding of crop adaption and leads to practical opportunities for crop improvement, allowing the prioritisation of genomic regions and particular sets of lines for breeding efforts seeking to cope with climate change and other stresses.
Journal ArticleDOI
QTLs for barley yield adaptation to Mediterranean environments in the ‘Nure’ × ‘Tremois’ biparental population
Alessandro Tondelli,Enrico Francia,Andrea Visioni,Andrea Visioni,Jordi Comadran,Anna M. Mastrangelo,Taner Akar,A. Al-Yassin,Salvatore Ceccarelli,Stefania Grando,Stefania Grando,A. Benbelkacem,F.A. van Eeuwijk,William T. B. Thomas,A. M. Stanca,Ignacio Romagosa,Nicola Pecchioni +16 more
TL;DR: The results of this work provide a valuable source of knowledge and tools for both explaining the genetic bases of barley yield adaptation across the Mediterranean basin, and using QTL-associated markers for MAS pre-breeding and breeding programmes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diversity in the Response to Low Temperature in Representative Barley Genotypes Cultivated in Europe
Fulvia Rizza,D Pagani,M. Gut,I. T. Prasil,C. Lago,Alessandro Tondelli,Luigi Orrù,Elisabetta Mazzucotelli,Enrico Francia,Franz-W. Badeck,Cristina Crosatti,Valeria Terzi,Luigi Cattivelli,Antonio Michele Stanca +13 more
TL;DR: A conservative estimation of the role of FT in WH implies that at least 50% of WH was associated with the level of FT, and high levels of FT and WH were found in both winter and facultative growth habits.
