European Red List of saproxylic beetles
Keith Alexander,Ana Nieto +1 more
TL;DR: This study shows that nearly 11% of saproxylic beetles are threatened, that is beetles depending on wood decay, and almost 14% of the assessed beetles (60 species) are thought to have significantly declining populations.

TL;DR: The European Red List of Habitats as discussed by the authors provides a new and all embracing tool to review commitments for ecosystem protection and restoration within the EU2020 biodiversity strategy. But it does not provide a comprehensive overview of the entire ecosystem.

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of existing risk assessment protocols, and with reference to the requirements of the EU Regulation on IAS (1143/2014) and international agreements including the World Trade Organisation, Convention on Biological Diversity and International Plant Protection Convention, coupled with consensus methods, identified and agreed upon 14 minimum standards (attributes) a risk assessment scheme should include.

TL;DR: A systematic consensus horizon scanning procedure is presented to derive a ranked list of potential IAS likely to arrive, establish, spread and have an impact on biodiversity in the region over the next decade.
