Journal ArticleDOI
Array CGH and gene-expression profiling reveals distinct genomic instability patterns associated with DNA repair and cell-cycle checkpoint pathways in Ewing's sarcoma
Bibiana I. Ferreira,Javier Alonso,Jaime Carrillo,Francesco Acquadro,Cristina Largo,Javier Suela,Manuel R. Teixeira,Nuno Cerveira,A Molares,Gonzalo Gómez-López,Angel Pestaña,Ana Sastre,Purificación García-Miguel,J C Cigudosa +13 more
TL;DR: This report elucidates, for the first time, data about genomic instability in ES, based on CNA and expression profiling, and shows that a genomically unstable group of Ewing's tumours is correlated with a significant poor prognosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cholecystokinin Down-Regulation by RNA Interference Impairs Ewing Tumor Growth
Jaime Carrillo,Eva García-Aragoncillo,Daniel Azorín,Noelia Agra,Ana Sastre,Imelda González-Mediero,Purificación García-Miguel,Angel Pestaña,Soledad Gallego,Dolores Segura,Javier Alonso +10 more
TL;DR: The hypothesis that cholecystokinin acts as an autocrine growth factor stimulating the proliferation of Ewing cells is supported and therapies targeting CCK could be promising in the treatment of EWing tumors is suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI
International randomised controlled trial for the treatment of newly diagnosed EWING sarcoma family of tumours - EURO EWING 2012 Protocol.
Jennifer Anderton,Veronica Moroz,Perrine Marec-Berard,Nathalie Gaspar,Valérie Laurence,Javier Martin-Broto,Ana Sastre,Hans Gelderblom,Cormac Owens,Sophie Kaiser,Melissa Fernández-Pinto,Nicola Fenwick,Abigail Evans,Sandra J. Strauss,Jeremy Whelan,Keith Wheatley,Bernadette Brennan +16 more
TL;DR: This study will establish which is the “standard regimen” of chemotherapy, taking into account both clinical outcomes and toxicity, and form the chemotherapy backbone for future interventional studies where the authors may want to add new targeted agents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Primary and Secondary Immunodeficiency Diseases in Oncohaematology: Warning Signs, Diagnosis, and Management.
Silvia Sánchez-Ramón,Arancha Bermúdez,Luis Ignacio Gonzalez-Granado,Carlos Rodríguez-Gallego,Ana Sastre,Pere Soler-Palacín +5 more
TL;DR: The warning signs of primary and secondary IDs in paediatric and adult patients with oncohaematological manifestations are defined to highlight the importance of an early diagnosis and treatment to avoid complications.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unexpected High Incidence of Human Herpesvirus-6 Encephalitis after Naive T Cell-Depleted Graft of Haploidentical Stem Cell Transplantation in Pediatric Patients.
Luisa Sisinni,Mercedes Gasior,Raquel de Paz,Sergio Querol,David Bueno,Lucía Fernández,Julia Marsal,Ana Sastre,Ramon Gimeno,Laura C. Alonso,Isabel Badell,Eduardo López-Granados,Juan Torres,Laura Medina,Montserrat Torrent,Cristina Díaz de Heredia,Adela Escudero,Antonio Pérez-Martínez +17 more
TL;DR: Although this treatment achieved a good control of viral reactivations, an unexpectedly high rate of limbic encephalitis due to human herpesvirus-6 (HHV-6; 8 cases) was observed, characteristically, the infection appeared early in almost all patients, just after the engraftment.
