Journal ArticleDOI
Variable radiological lung nodule evaluation leads to divergent management recommendations.
Arjun Nair,Emily C. Bartlett,Simon L.F. Walsh,Athol U. Wells,Neal Navani,Georgia Hardavella,Sanjeev Bhalla,Lucio Calandriello,Anand Devaraj,Jin Mo Goo,Jeffrey S. Klein,Heber MacMahon,Cornelia M. Schaefer-Prokop,Joon-Beom Seo,Nicola Sverzellati,Sujal R. Desai,Sujal R. Desai +16 more
TL;DR: International radiological variations in pulmonary nodule evaluation translate into good overall agreement for guideline-modelled management, but poor agreement for radiologists' actual recommendations: 21% of radiologists can disagree with majority decisions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Computed tomographic imaging in connective tissue diseases.
TL;DR: This work presents a review of the high-resolution computed tomographic pulmonary features of CTD in the lung and their significance to the reporting radiologist.
Journal ArticleDOI
Variable utility of mosaic attenuation to distinguish fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
Joseph Barnett,Philip L. Molyneaux,Bhavin Rawal,Rezaur Abdullah,Samanjit S. Hare,Rama Vancheeswaran,Sujal R. Desai,Toby M. Maher,Athol U. Wells,Anand Devaraj +9 more
TL;DR: The headcheese sign can be confidently considered as being inconsistent with a diagnosis of IPF and specific for FHP, the form of mosaic attenuation most specific for distinguishing fibrotic hypersensitivity pneumonitis from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of cardiovascular risk in a lung cancer screening cohort
M. Ruparel,Samantha L Quaife,J. Dickson,C. Horst,S. Burke,Magali Taylor,Asia Ahmed,Penny Shaw,MJ Soo,Arjun Nair,Anand Devaraj,E. O'Dowd,Angshu Bhowmik,Neal Navani,Karen Sennett,Stephen W. Duffy,David R Baldwin,Reecha Sofat,Riyaz S. Patel,Aroon D. Hingorani,Sam M. Janes +20 more
TL;DR: LCS offers an important opportunity for instituting CVD risk assessment in all LCS participants irrespective of the presence of LDCT-detected CAC, and statin use was associated with age, body mass index and history of hypertension and diabetes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bacterial burden in the lower airways predicts disease progression in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and is independent of radiological disease extent.
Rachele Invernizzi,Joseph Barnett,Bhavin Rawal,Arjun Nair,Poonam Ghai,Shaun Kingston,Felix Chua,Zhe Wu,Athol U. Wells,Elizabeth R. Renzoni,Andrew G. Nicholson,Alexandra Rice,Clare M. Lloyd,Adam J. Byrne,Toby M. Maher,Anand Devaraj,Philip L. Molyneaux +16 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that bacterial burden in the lower airways is not simply secondary to the extent of the underlying architectural destruction of the lung parenchyma seen in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and is independent of both radiological features and extent of disease.
