Asymmetric Michael additions of a β-oxophosphonate to nitroalkenes in the presence of chiral diamine complexes

TL;DR: In this article, transition metal catalyzed asymmetric Michael additions of dimethyl (2-oxo-2-phenylethyl)phosphonate to a variety of aromatic nitroalkenes have been developed The effects of ligand structure, metal ions, and solvent on the reaction are described Ni(II)−bis[(1R,2R)-N,N′-dibenzylcyclohexane-1,2-diamine]Br2 was found to be an effective catalyst for this reaction.
Journal ArticleDOI

The first example of Ni(II)-catalyzed asymmetric addition of β-oxophosphonate to nitroalkene

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors showed that complexes of nickel, cobalt, and manganese with chiral diamines are efficient catalysts for enantioselective addition of 1,3dicarbonyl compounds to nitroalkenes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of non-racemic 4-nitro-2-sulfonylbutan-1-ones via Ni(II)-catalyzed asymmetric Michael reaction of β-ketosulfones.

TL;DR: It has been established that the catalytic Michael reaction itself was carried out with high diastereoselectivity, but the Michael adducts may epimerize at the C-2 position at a significant rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Asymmetric Synthesis of Adamantyl GABA Analogues

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient synthesis of (R)- and (S)-4-amino-3-(adamant-1-yl)butyric acids and pyrrolidin-2-ones is presented.
