Journal ArticleDOI

Tropical methane emissions: A revised view from SCIAMACHY onboard ENVISAT

TL;DR: In this article, a retrieval error related to inaccuracies in water vapor spectroscopic parameters was identified, causing a substantial overestimation of methane correlated with high water vapor abundances.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dynamic Processes Governing Lower-Tropospheric HDO/H2O Ratios as Observed from Space and Ground

TL;DR: An extension of the analysis at high latitudes using ground-based observations of δD¯ and a model study shows that dynamic processes can entirely compensate for temperature effects on the isotopic composition of precipitation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Toward Global Mapping of Methane With TROPOMI: First Results and Intersatellite Comparison to GOSAT

TL;DR: In this paper, the first methane observations from November and December 2017, using TROPOMI radiance measurements in the shortwave infrared band around 2.3 μm, were presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Aerosol properties over the ocean from PARASOL multiangle photopolarimetric measurements

TL;DR: In this paper, a retrieval algorithm based on these principles was applied to PARASOL measurements over the ocean, and the retrieved values for aerosol optical thickness (AOT) and Angstrom exponent agree well with Sun photometer measurements of the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET), and the Single Scattering Albedo (SSA) agrees well with AERONet diffuse sky inversion product.
Journal ArticleDOI

Retrievals of atmospheric CO2 from simulated space-borne measurements of backscattered near-infrared sunlight: accounting for aerosol effects.

TL;DR: A retrieval approach that allows for the retrieval of a few effective aerosol parameters simultaneously with the CO2 total column by parameterizing particle amount, height distribution, and microphysical properties is proposed.
