Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of implant surface nanoscale features on osteoblast-specific gene expression.

TL;DR: N nanostructured surfaces produced using aluminum oxide significantly enhanced the hMSC gene expression representative of osteoblast differentiation, suggesting nanoscale features on Ti implant substrates may improve the osseointegration response by altering adherent cell response.
Journal Article

Nanostructured alumina-coated implant surface: effect on osteoblast-related gene expression and bone-to-implant contact in vivo.

TL;DR: Great bone-specific gene expression was observed in tissues adjacent to Al2O3 implants, and associated increases in BIC and torque removal were noted, suggesting Nanostructured alumina may directly influence cell behavior to enhance osseointegration.

Efeito de Superfícies de Implantes Nano-Estruturadas na Expressão de Genes de Osteoblastos e no Contato Osso-Implante In Vivo Effect of Nanostructured Implant Surfaces on Osteoblast Related Gene Expression and Bone-Implant Contact In Vivo
