Journal ArticleDOI
A novel quantitative microarray antibody capture assay identifies an extremely high hepatitis delta virus prevalence among hepatitis B virus-infected mongolians.
Xiaohua Chen,Odgerel Oidovsambuu,Ping Liu,Rosslyn Grosely,Menashe Elazar,Virginia D. Winn,Benjamin Fram,Zhang Boa,Hongjie Dai,B. Dashtseren,Dahgwahdorj Yagaanbuyant,Zulkhuu Genden,Naranbaatar Dashdorj,Andreas Bungert,Naranjargal Dashdorj,Jeffrey S. Glenn,Jeffrey S. Glenn +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a high-throughput quantitative microarray antibody capture assay for anti-HDV immunoglobulin G was developed, where recombinant HDV delta antigen is printed by microarray on slides coated with a noncontinuous, nanostructured plasmonic gold film.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparative incidence rates of mild adverse effects to transcranial magnetic stimulation
Leah Maizey,Chris Allen,Martynas Dervinis,Frederick Verbruggen,Alice Varnava,Alice Varnava,Michail D. Kozlov,Rachel Adams,Mark G. Stokes,Jane Klemen,Andreas Bungert,Charles A. Hounsell,Christopher D. Chambers +12 more
TL;DR: The relationship between MAEs, participant characteristics (age and gender) and protocol parameters, including mode of application, coil geometry, stimulated brain region, TMS frequency, T MS intensity, and active vs. sham stimulation is explored.
Journal ArticleDOI
Endemic prevalence of hepatitis B and C in Mongolia: A nationwide survey amongst Mongolian adults.
B. Dashtseren,Andreas Bungert,Purevjargal Bat-Ulzii,M. Enkhbat,O. Lkhagva-Ochir,Ganbolor Jargalsaikhan,A. Enkhbat,Odgerel Oidovsambuu,J. Klemen,Naranbaatar Dashdorj,Zulkhuu Genden,Dahgwahdorj Yagaanbuyant +11 more
TL;DR: The data indicate a higher risk of infection and a higher mortality because of the hepatitis amongst men than amongst women, and confirm the position of Mongolia as one of the hot‐spots of chronic hepatitis infection in the world with about 19.4% of the adult population being infected with either HBV or HCV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sensitivity and specificity of commercially available rapid diagnostic tests for viral hepatitis B and C screening in serum samples.
Ganbolor Jargalsaikhan,Miriam Eichner,Delgerbat Boldbaatar,Purevjargal Bat-Ulzii,O. Lkhagva-Ochir,Odgerel Oidovsambuu,B. Dashtseren,Erdenebayar Namjil,Zulkhuu Genden,Dahgwahdorj Yagaanbuyant,Alimaa Tuya,Naran Gurjav,Altankhuu Mordorj,Andreas Bungert,Naranbaatar Dashdorj,Naranjargal Dashdorj +15 more
TL;DR: The results of this prospective study demonstrate that inexpensive, easy to handle RDTs are a promising tool in effective HBV- and HCV-screening especially in resource-limited settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypertension prevalence and control in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
Harry Potts,Uurtsaikh Baatarsuren,Maral Myanganbayar,Baigal Purevdorj,Burtu‐Ujin Lkhagvadorj,Namuun Ganbat,Alimaa Dorjpalam,Delgerbat Boldbaatar,Khulan Tuvdendarjaa,Dulmaa Sampilnorov,Khatantuul Boldbaatar,Myagmartseren Dashtseren,Batbold Batsukh,Namkhaidorj Tserengombo,Tsolmon Unurjargal,Enkhtuya Palam,Roberta Bosurgi,Geoffrey So,Norm R.C. Campbell,Norm R.C. Campbell,Norm R.C. Campbell,Andreas Bungert,Naranbaatar Dashdorj,Naranjargal Dashdorj +23 more
TL;DR: Prevalence increased with age and below 50 years men were consistently more likely to be hypertensive, and awareness, treatment, and control rates in Ulaanbaatar are better than in most low‐ and middle‐income countries but are still suboptimal.
