Temporal trends and patterns in heart failure incidence: a population-based study of 4 million individuals.
Nathalie Conrad,Andrew Judge,Andrew Judge,Andrew Judge,Jenny Tran,Hamid Mohseni,Deborah Hedgecott,Abel Perez Crespillo,Moira Allison,Harry Hemingway,Harry Hemingway,John G.F. Cleland,John G.F. Cleland,John J.V. McMurray,Kazem Rahimi,Kazem Rahimi +15 more
TL;DR: A moderate decline in standardised incidence of heart failure in the UK is increasing, and is now similar to the four most common causes of cancer combined, while Socioeconomically deprived individuals were more likely to develop heart failure than were affluent individuals.

Incidence and risk factors for clinically diagnosed knee, hip and hand osteoarthritis: influences of age, gender and osteoarthritis affecting other joints
Daniel Prieto-Alhambra,Andrew Judge,Muhammad Javaid,Cyrus Cooper,Adolfo Diez-Perez,Nigel K Arden +5 more
TL;DR: The effect of age is greatest in the elderly for knee and hip OA, but around the menopause for hand OA; OA clusters within individuals, with higher risk of incident knee and Hip disease from prevalent lower limb andHand OA.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of patient age at intervention on risk of implant revision after total replacement of the hip or knee: a population-based cohort study
L E Bayliss,David Culliford,A Paul Monk,Sion Glyn-Jones,Daniel Prieto-Alhambra,Daniel Prieto-Alhambra,Daniel Prieto-Alhambra,Andrew Judge,Andrew Judge,Cyrus Cooper,Cyrus Cooper,Andrew Carr,Nigel K Arden,Nigel K Arden,David J Beard,Andrew Price +15 more
TL;DR: The evidence challenges the increasing trend for more total hip replacements and total knee replacements to be done in the younger patient group, and these data should be offered to patients as part of the shared decision making process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adverse outcomes after total and unicompartmental knee replacement in 101,330 matched patients: a study of data from the National Joint Registry for England and Wales.
TL;DR: In decisions about which procedure to offer, the higher revision/reoperation rate of UKR than of TKR should be balanced against a lower occurrence of complications, readmission, and mortality, together with known benefits for UKR in terms of postoperative function.
Journal ArticleDOI
Future projections of total hip and knee arthroplasty in the UK: results from the UK Clinical Practice Research Datalink
David Culliford,J Maskell,Andrew Judge,Cyrus Cooper,Daniel Prieto-Alhambra,Nigel K Arden,Nigel K Arden +6 more
TL;DR: The number of THR/TKR operations in the UK up to 2035 is projected to be 95,877 and 118,666, higher for women than men and an exponential extrapolation of historical rates produces much higher estimates of THR and TKR counts in 2035.
