Journal ArticleDOI

Self-assembling hydrogel scaffolds for photocatalytic hydrogen production.

TL;DR: This work reports on the light-driven production of hydrogen inside a hydrogel scaffold built by the supramolecular self-assembly of a perylene monoimide amphiphile and finds the emergent phenomenon that screening by the catalyst or the electrolytes led to two-dimensional crystallization of the chromophore assemblies and enhanced the electronic coupling among the molecules.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two-dimensional nanofluidics

TL;DR: Nanofluidics, which enables the manipulation of confined ions and electrolytes, has applications in electrochemical energy conversion and storage, biosensing, and water purification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-assembled two-dimensional nanofluidic proton channels with high thermal stability

TL;DR: Self-assembled clay-based 2D nanofluidic channels with surface charge-governed proton conductivity are reported, which should prove useful to the study of confined ionic transport, and will enable new ionic device designs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Self-dispersed crumpled graphene balls in oil for friction and wear reduction.

TL;DR: For the first time to the authors' knowledge, such type of ultrafine particles made of crumpled, paper-ball–like graphene are reported, which indeed can self-disperse in lubricant oil, and exhibit stable and superior tribological performances.
Journal ArticleDOI

Supramolecular Packing Controls H2 Photocatalysis in Chromophore Amphiphile Hydrogels

TL;DR: In this article, the photocatalytic performance of perylene monoimide chromophore amphiphiles with different alkyl linker lengths separating their hydrophobic core and the hydrophilic carboxylate headgroup was investigated.
