Journal ArticleDOI
Co-composting of poultry manure mixtures amended with biochar - The effect of biochar on temperature and C-CO2 emission.
Wojciech Czekała,Krystyna Malińska,Rafaela Cáceres,Damian Janczak,Jacek Dach,Andrzej Lewicki +5 more
TL;DR: The addition of biochar increased C- CO2 emission and the total C-CO2 emission were higher about 6.9% and 7.4% for P:S+5%B and P: S+10%B, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI
Biochar to reduce ammonia emissions in gaseous and liquid phase during composting of poultry manure with wheat straw.
Damian Janczak,Krystyna Malińska,Wojciech Czekała,Rafaela Cáceres,Andrzej Lewicki,Jacek Dach +5 more
TL;DR: Composting of poultry manure which is high in N and dense in structure can cause several problems including significant N losses in the form of NH3 through volatilization, so amendment of low C/N composting mixtures with biochar at low rates can have a positive effect on composting dynamics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methane fermentation of the maize straw silage under meso- and thermophilic conditions
Marta Cieślik,Jacek Dach,Andrzej Lewicki,Anna Smurzyńska,Damian Janczak,Joanna Pawlicka-Kaczorowska,Piotr Boniecki,Paweł Cyplik,Wojciech Czekała,Krzysztof Jóźwiakowski +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the results of research on biogas efficiency of the maize straw silage, the dynamics of the fermentation process and the decomposition time of biomass under the meso-and thermophilic conditions were compared.
Journal ArticleDOI
Digestate management in polish farms as an element of the nutrient cycle
Wojciech Czekała,Andrzej Lewicki,Patrycja Pochwatka,Agnieszka Czekała,Dawid Wojcieszak,Krzysztof Jóźwiakowski,Hanna Waliszewska +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined and discussed the fertilizing properties of digestate (digested pulp) from three different agricultural biogas plants in terms of the substrates used.
Journal ArticleDOI
Energetic efficiency analysis of the agricultural biogas plant in 250 kWe experimental installation
Jacek Dach,Piotr Boniecki,Jacek Przybył,Damian Janczak,Andrzej Lewicki,Wojciech Czekała,Kamil Witaszek,Pablo César Rodríguez Carmona,Marta Cieślik +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the biogas efficiency of the substrates available in PULS experimental farm Przybroda (cattle manure, maize silage) and showed that the most energetic valuable substrate is maize-silage with cumulative biowas yield 218.4m3/Mg FM (almost 3 times more than cattle manure).
