IL-7 Contributes to the Progression of Human T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemias
Ana Elisa Bauer de Camargo Silva,Angelo Brunelli Albertoni Laranjeira,Leila R. Martins,Bruno A. Cardoso,Jocelyne Demengeot,J. Andrés Yunes,Benedict Seddon,João T. Barata +7 more
TL;DR: It is established that interleukin-7 contributes to the progression of human T-cell leukemia, and the results offer preclinical validation of the concept that targeting IL-7/IL-7R signaling in the tumor microenvironment could elicit therapeutic effects in T-ALL.
Journal ArticleDOI
Potential Antileukemia Effect and Structural Analyses of SRPK Inhibition by N-(2-(Piperidin-1-yl)-5-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl)Isonicotinamide (SRPIN340).
Raoni Pais Siqueira,Éverton de Almeida Alves Barbosa,Marcelo Depólo Polêto,Germanna Lima Righetto,Thiago V. Seraphim,Rafael Locatelli Salgado,Joana Gasperazzo Ferreira,Marcus Vinícius de Andrade Barros,Leandro Licursi de Oliveira,Angelo Brunelli Albertoni Laranjeira,Márcia Rogéria de Almeida,Abelardo Silva Júnior,Juliana Lopes Rangel Fietto,Jörg Kobarg,Eduardo Basílio de Oliveira,Róbson Ricardo Teixeira,Júlio César Borges,José Andrés Yunes,Gustavo Costa Bressan +18 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that SRPK pharmacological inhibition should be considered as an alternative therapeutic strategy for fighting leukemias and the obtained SRPK-ligand interaction data provide useful structural information to guide further medicinal chemistry efforts towards the development of novel drug candidates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased CCL2 and IL-8 in the bone marrow microenvironment in acute lymphoblastic leukemia†
Jaira F. de Vasconcellos,Angelo Brunelli Albertoni Laranjeira,Nilson Ivo Tonin Zanchin,Rosemary Otubo,Thais Haline Vaz,Angelo A. Cardoso,Silvia Regina Brandalise,José Andrés Yunes +7 more
TL;DR: The interactions of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) blasts with bone marrow (BM) stromal cells have a positive impact on leukemia cell survival and the role of molecules critically involved in leukemia—microenvironment crosstalk is proposed to be investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
N-(1'-naphthyl)-3,4,5-trimethoxybenzohydrazide as microtubule destabilizer: Synthesis, cytotoxicity, inhibition of cell migration and in vivo activity against acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Lívia B. Salum,Alessandra Mascarello,Rafael Renatino Canevarolo,Wanessa F. Altei,Angelo Brunelli Albertoni Laranjeira,Patrícia D. Neuenfeldt,Taisa Regina Stumpf,Louise Domeneghini Chiaradia-Delatorre,Laura L. Vollmer,Hikmat N. Daghestani,Carolina Pereira de Souza Melo,André B. Silveira,Paulo César Leal,Marisa Jádna Silva Frederico,Leandro F. Nascimento,Adair R.S. Santos,Adriano D. Andricopulo,Billy W. Day,Rosendo A. Yunes,Andreas Vogt,José Andrés Yunes,Ricardo José Nunes +21 more
TL;DR: Aiming at designing structurally-simple inhibitors of MT assembly, a series of thirty-one 3,4,5-trimethoxy-hydrazones and twenty-five derivatives or analogs were synthesized and several showed anti-leukemia effects in the nanomolar concentration range.
Journal ArticleDOI
IGFBP7 participates in the reciprocal interaction between acute lymphoblastic leukemia and BM stromal cells and in leukemia resistance to asparaginase
Angelo Brunelli Albertoni Laranjeira,J F de Vasconcellos,Ladaslav Sodek,Maria C. Spago,M.C. Fornazim,Luiz Gonzaga Tone,Silvia Regina Brandalise,Alexandre E. Nowill,José Andrés Yunes +8 more
TL;DR: Assays showed that higher IGFBP7 mRNA levels were associated with lower leukemia-free survival in precursor B-cell Ph(−) ALL patients treated with a contemporary polychemotherapy protocol, and significantly enhances in-vitro resistance of ALL to asparaginase.
