The effect of leniency on leader behavior descriptions

TL;DR: The results from five studies designed to estimate the magnitude and effects of leniency on subordinate-provided descriptions of leader Consideration and Initiating Structure are reported in this article. But, the results of these studies indicate that subordinate reports of leader initiating structure are not particularly susceptible to the effects of the leniency.

TL;DR: The current results suggest that calculation of a fail-safe N may have led to more cautious and circumspect interpretations of previous meta-analytic results, and the utility of fail- safe N's is evaluated.
